Coruisk House on the Isle of Skye has expanded its accommodation offering with the purchase of an additional thatched holiday cottage.
The boutique guesthouse, located in the village of Elgol, now operates two thatched cottages alongside its four main bedrooms. The new property, named Tigh Mairi, is situated a short distance from the main house and features a large double bedroom, living area and fully equipped kitchen.
Clare Winskill, owner of Coruisk House, said: “The purchase of the cottage is a strategic step in the continued growth of Coruisk House. It allows us to expand our accommodation offering while maintaining the privacy and quality our guests value.”
“We’re seeing increasing demand from travellers looking for more immersive, independent stays, and this new cottage will allow us to meet those demands.”
She added: “Over the past few years, we have seen an increase in couples travelling to Skye to enjoy intimate weddings and elopements, and the purchase of Tigh Mairi will allow Coruisk House to become an integral part of even more couples’ love stories.”
Coruisk House offers an evening four-course set menu using locally sourced, seasonal produce. The new cottage also benefits from views over the Sound of Sleat and the Knoydart mountains.
