Corinthia Grand Hotel Astoria Brussels proudly announces the debut of four breathtaking penthouses and its signature Royal Heritage Suite. Occupying the most distinguished floors of this historic landmark, these new residences embody Corinthia’s commitment to timeless craftsmanship, understated elegance, and the art of modern hospitality. The Royal Heritage Suite and the Grand Masters Penthouse were designed by GA Group, with three further penthouses – Grand Gallery, Brontë and Belle Vue – created by DesignEQ. Each suite draws inspiration from Belgium’s cultural heritage and artistic legacy, creating refined sanctuaries that marry historic grandeur with contemporary comfort.
During its four-year renovation owners Corinthia Group carried out the project in consultation with Urban Brussels, Patrimoine Brussels and the Royal Commission to enhance the existing, legendary Grand Hotel Astoria with an additional floor, while integrating it with an entirely new adjoining building. Behind the original and iconic façade and above the protected ground-floor interiors with their meticulously restored details, architects have been able to completely redefine the accommodation across floors one to six, creating an extraordinary new presence among the hotels of Europe’s capital.
Corinthia Brussels follows in the footsteps of its sister hotel, Corinthia London – also owned by Corinthia Group – which, in 2011, transformed luxury hospitality in the UK’s capital with the introduction of seven trailblazing penthouses. Conceived as private residences, they reimagined the concept of a hotel suite with expansive terraces offering previously unseen views across the city. Each penthouse was designed around a distinctive theme, blending bespoke interiors with curated art, fine craftsmanship, and the comforts of a private home, which set a new benchmark for London’s luxury hotels and cemented Corinthia’s reputation as a pioneer in creating spaces that are both grand and uniquely imaginative.
Belle Vue Penthouse (605): Nature and City in Dialogue
Drawing inspiration from the Royal Greenhouses of Laeken and Brussels’ celebrated gardens, this sixth-floor penthouse creates a dialogue between nature and the metropolis. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the interiors with light, while dual-aspect views on both sides of the street frame contrasting perspectives of Brussels. Nestled among the rooftops, the residence captures the city’s shifting colours and character throughout the day and across the seasons.
Warm eucalyptus wood, floral marbles, and soft sage tones are paired with accents of magenta and pale gold, echoing the natural rhythms of the city. The pièce de résistance is the bathroom, where Italian marbles meet exquisite craftsmanship: sage-green book-matched slabs line the floor, while a curved feature wall around the bathtub is adorned with a custom laser-cut mosaic inlaid with mother-of-pearl and bold green marble foliage – a contemporary homage to nature’s forms.
Intimate yet refined, the living and dining spaces are designed for both comfort and elegance, complemented by a bespoke minibar that underscores the one-bedroom penthouse’s meticulous attention to detail.

Royal Heritage Suite (124): Romance and Musical Majesty
Honouring the original royal suite of 1900, this residence welcomes guests with a grand staircase framed by stained-glass windows, masterfully crafted by Belgian artisans. Situated on the first floor of the historic building, the one-bedroom suite enjoys a privileged position just behind the Grand Hotel Astoria’s iconic façade. A private terrace overlooks the famed Rue Royale, while the interiors pay tribute to Brussels’ rich musical heritage with a grand piano, sculptural details, and bespoke furnishings inspired by musical scores, evoking the city’s ties to composers such as César Franck and the inventor of the saxophone, Adolphe Sax. Calacatta Verde marble and a striking shell-shaped wall behind the bathtub underscore the suite’s blend of heritage and modern refinement, echoing the splendour once reserved for royal guests at the turn of the century. A discreet glass door also connects the suite to an adjacent Deluxe room, allowing it to transform into a spacious family residence. Steeped in history, the suite has hosted distinguished figures including British statesman Winston Churchill, Spanish surrealist Salvador Dalí, and Japan’s Emperor Hirohito.

Brontë Penthouse (604): Literature Meets Luxury
Inspired by the Brontë sisters’ time in Brussels during the 1840s, the one-bedroom Brontë Penthouse blends literary heritage with contemporary elegance. In the principal suite, Belgian craftsmanship honours traditional techniques with a bespoke headboard of plaster panels, their design resembling ink swirling through water. Dark blue interiors draw on the imagery of ink-stained manuscripts, softened with romantic detailing that reflects the sensibility of the pioneering female authors. Sleek mouldings and bespoke finishes continue this narrative, while the bathroom features book-matched marble, hand-selected from the Carrara region, underscoring the artistry of the residence.
The theme of nature, central to much of the Brontës’ storytelling, is expressed in the dining room. Victorian-inspired, hand-painted silver parchment scenic wallpaper provides a historic backdrop, complemented by a custom chandelier in gilded brass with seeded crystal – an abstract interpretation of tree branches and rainfall. Positioned between the central atrium and a panoramic rooftop terrace, the penthouse is filled with natural light that enhances the living, dining room and office, uniting narrative, craftsmanship, and design excellence.

Grand Masters Penthouse (403): Curated Elegance
Inspired by Flemish masters such as Bruegel and Rubens, this penthouse, with its two bedrooms is a haven of serenity. Deep blue tones, an elegant marble fireplace, and a custom bar anchor the two distinct living spaces and their private terraces. Though one terrace is more intimate, it provides a tranquil outdoor retreat, while the larger terrace opens to sweeping views of Brussels’ rooftops, complete with a dining area and lounge.
A library and study, lined with art tomes, recall the grandeur of Flanders’ artistic golden age. The serene principal bedroom, with dual walk-in closets, highlights the residence’s thoughtful craftsmanship – creating a retreat where art, literature, and hospitality seamlessly converge.

Grand Gallery Penthouse (603): A Tribute to Timeless Style
Echoing the splendour of the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert – one of Europe’s oldest covered arcades dating back to 1847 – this penthouse is a masterclass in refined design. Once the grand meeting place of the Belle Époque, where society gathered to see and be seen and bohemians embraced the latest fashions, the spirit of those arcades is reimagined in the residence’s aesthetic. Eucalyptus wood panelling and intricate mouldings frame a sophisticated palette enriched with magenta accents and chestnut hues. Situated on the sixth floor of the hotel, the expansive living space is uniquely positioned between the panoramic terrace on one side and the central courtyard atrium on the other, ensuring both sweeping city views and a remarkable sense of light and openness. The adjoining eight-seat dining room extends from the living area, drawing its illumination from the terrace.
Two principal bedrooms each feature a marble-clad ensuite with deep-soaking tubs, while the panoramic terrace offers uninterrupted vistas across the city’s cultural landmarks. Conceived as a complete lifestyle retreat, the penthouse blends elegance with wellbeing, enhanced by a Technogym-equipped fitness studio and a serene massage room.
