Apaleo is the first property management platform in the hospitality industry to launch a Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server – a breakthrough that allows AI agents to perform complex, cross-system hotel operations without weeks of custom coding.

The MCP Server provides AI agents a standardised way to read hotel data and perform actions across the broad ecosystem of hospitality AI applications, without relying on custom integrations. This solves a long-standing industry challenge: making agentic AI more practical in a complex and fragmented tech ecosystem.

MCP is a new standardised interface built specifically for AI agents. It functions like a universal language, enabling agents to read data and take actions across platforms, systems, tools and data sources – in one consistent way. With MCP, agents can connect to other tools more easily, leading to faster deployment and wider application of AI in hospitality.

Previously, connecting AI agents required custom development for every vendor and use case – a repetitive, time-intensive process that limited scalability.

For example, an AI agent changing a hotel booking would need to access availability and rates from the PMS, check the guests’ loyalty status in the CRM, confirm with housekeeping, and create a payment link – each through a separate tool implementation. With MCP, this complexity is replaced by a single, standardised interface.

Apaleo’s MCP Server brings the MCP standard across the entire Apaleo open platform and its APIs, reducing the effort needed to connect and deploy AI in day-to-day operations. For Apaleo users, this means faster automation, lower technical overhead and easier scalability.

The MCP Server is part of Apaleo’s broader initiative to support the co-creation of AI agents with hoteliers and developers – the first collaboration of its kind in hospitality. Designed to solve real operational pain points in days, not weeks, it builds on the success of Apaleo’s Agent Hub, the world’s first AI agent marketplace for the hospitality industry, launched earlier this year.

This MCP Server launch strengthens Apaleo’s position as a technology innovator, helping the hospitality industry move from fragmented systems toward a more unified, AI-ready ecosystem.

Mike Rawson, CIO of citizenM, a leading affordable luxury hotel group with 37 properties in the US, Europe, and Asia Pacific (which operates on Apaleo’s platform), said: “The MCP is the great AI democratiser in hotel tech. It shifts us from coding to describing intent, enabling anyone, from GMs to front desk teams, to design adaptive and fluid guest journeys without waiting on developer backlogs.

“It marks a new era of frontline innovation that moves at the speed of imagination. For me, MCP doesn’t just improve hotel operations; it fundamentally redefines how – and how fast – hotels evolve. It’s exciting to see Apaleo leading the industry and helping hoteliers keep pace with the breakneck speed of agentic AI innovation. For citizenM, which runs on Apaleo as our infrastructure layer, it unlocks a new level of agility and control in how we shape the guest experience.”

Stephan Wiesener, Co-Founder and CTO of Apaleo, said: “Apaleo has been leading the charge in making agentic AI practical for hospitality, and the launch of our MCP Server takes that a major step further.

“This moves agentic AI out of the lab and into live hotel environments, where it can drive real value every day. The MCP Server builds on the foundation we laid with Agent Hub, our AI agent marketplace, developed together with hoteliers and developers to solve real pain points. After years of hype, it’s exciting to see agentic AI finally becoming practical at scale.”

Hospitality businesses can co-create the next generation of hospitality by joining the MCP Alpha Group through the Apaleo Community.
