Ivy Hospitality has assumed management of The Tudor Arms Hotel Cleveland, a DoubleTree by Hilton, marking a new chapter for the 157-room property. Located in Cleveland’s University Circle neighborhood, the hotel occupies a 12-story Gothic revival building that first opened in 1933 as the Cleveland Club.
Originally featuring a swimming pool, bowling alley, library and two ballrooms, the club closed in 1939 during the Great Depression. The building then reopened as the Tudor Arms Hotel. One of its ballrooms became the Empress Room supper club, which hosted performances by Patrice Wymore, Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong. The building’s brick and limestone façade earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994 and it was added to the Historic Hotels of America list in 2015.
Today, The Tudor Arms Hotel Cleveland blends historical charm with modern amenities. The 157 guest rooms and suites offer a distinct European feel and feature spacious work surfaces, flat screen TVs, luxurious beds, hypo-allergenic down pillows, complimentary high-speed Internet access and a coffee maker in every room. Suites include a refrigerator and microwave. On-site dining is provided at The Tudor Bar & Grill, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests also have access to a fully equipped business center, rooftop patio, indoor pool, snack store and gift shop.
“The Tudor Arms Hotel is a timeless landmark in Cleveland, and we are honored to join its story,” said Tommy Holmes, CEO of Ivy Hospitality. “At Ivy Hospitality, being Rooted in Legacy means respecting the history of places like this while cultivating the care, insight, and collaboration that carry them forward into the future. We look forward to building on this legacy with hospitality that creates lasting impact for guests, associates, and the community.”
