📈 Kevin Matheson has been appointed as general manager of the 220-room Courtyard by Marriott Boston Downtown/North Station. Bringing 25 years of experience, Matheson previously held leadership roles with Magna Hospitality, Hyatt, Pyramid Hotel Group, and Four Seasons. The hotel, opened in 2018, is conveniently located near major Boston attractions. Owned by Fontainebleau Development and Related Beal, the Courtyard is positioned for both business and leisure travelers.

Dan Briks joins Hilton New York Times Square as GM

📍 Hilton appointed Dan Briks as general manager of the 478-room Hilton New York Times Square. Briks has over 20 years of leadership experience in NYC hotels, previously serving at Martinique New York on Broadway since 2021. He led major renovations and opened new outlets there. His career started at Waldorf Astoria New York. Briks is also on the Board of Directors of the Hotel Association of NYC and the General Manager Committee for AHLA.

🏠 Lorenzo Maestripieri appointed resort manager at Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla. With nearly 20 years at Four Seasons across Europe and the Caribbean, his career began in 2008 at Four Seasons Hotel Firenze. Joined Anguilla in June 2018 as assistant director of food and beverage, became director by August 2021, and director of rooms in April 2023. Originates from Tuscany, Italy, and has held various leadership roles worldwide.

As of February 2026, the company launched Renegade Hotels, scaling to 10 hotels in the U.S. within four months. Tanya Sims, Kelly Makino, and Patrick Horstmann join as VP of operations, head of HR, and director of luxury & lifestyle, respectively, supporting Rebel’s ambitious expansion plans for 2026.

Domaine des Etangs, Auberge Collection taps new GM

🏡 Domaine des Etangs in Charente, France, has appointed Damien Bastiat as general manager. The 13th-century château will reopen in March. Bastiat, with 30 years of luxury hospitality experience, recently managed Almae Collection and previously led hotels like Hotel Le Toiny St. Barth and Ballyfin Demesne. The property joined Auberge Collection in April 2023. Mo Elbanna of Auberge Collection praises Bastiat’s leadership as they aim to establish the château as a luxury destination.

First JW Marriott in Poland coming to Krakow in 2027

🏨 Suited Interior Design will transform the historic PKO bank building in Kraków, Poland, into JW Marriott Kraków, a luxury hotel. The original architecture, including a four-story dome inspired by the Pantheon, is preserved. Scheduled to open in 2027, it will feature 120 rooms, including two-story suites and Mindfulness Suites. A unique spa will be housed in the former bank vault. The project honors Adolf Szyszko-Bohusz's architectural vision while embracing modern luxury.
