Leisureplex Hotel Group has acquired The Derwentwater Hotel and Derwent Manor Apartments in Portinscale, Cumbria, for an undisclosed sum.
The hotel and apartments were previously part of the Coast and Country Hotels portfolio.
The site includes 47 en-suite bedrooms, 18 self-catered apartments and a self-contained holiday cottage, alongside a lakeview conservatory and landscaped gardens extending to the shore of Derwentwater.
The property, which was acquired through Christie and Co, becomes the 25th hotel in the Leisureplex Collection, joining the Royal Hotel in Weymouth and Waverley Castle Hotel in Melrose.
A spokesperson for Leisureplex Hotel Group said: “We are thrilled to be adding the Derwentwater Hotel into the Leisureplex collection. This acquisition reflects our commitment to giving our customers more choice of hand-picked destinations and the opportunity to enjoy wonderful new excursions.”
Graham Wilkinson, Christie and Co hotel agent based in Windermere, added: “We are delighted to have worked with the vendors and purchasers of this prominent Lake District hotel to secure its future as one of the largest and oldest hotels in the north Lake District. The new owners plan to revitalise the business over the months to come.”
