Mondrian Ibiza and Hyde Ibiza have been awarded the prestigious international Green Key certification, becoming two of only three hotels on the entire island to receive this recognition.
This label, granted by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), distinguishes tourism establishments that meet strict environmental criteria and demonstrate a genuine commitment to sustainability.
From Cala Llonga, both hotels have integrated responsible practices into every aspect of the guest experience: from architectural design and energy efficiency to waste management, the use of local products, and team training.
These criteria encompass internal environmental management and resource conservation, as well as staff engagement, guest information, and commitment to the local community. It is a rigorous process that includes regular audits and continuous improvement.
This commitment is reflected in concrete actions that made the certification possible: supporting events organized by cancer associations in Ibiza and Formentera, as well as actively collaborating with the Cala Llonga neighborhood association on projects that benefit the community; raising awareness among guests and employees through information about protected species, local flora and fauna, and the island’s natural spaces; and transitioning to more sustainable solutions, such as installing solar panels, replacing lighting with LED and low-consumption systems, increasing recycling rates (earning recognition from the local council for being one of the establishments with the highest recycling index), and continuously promoting best practices through digital information for guests.
