MARRIOTT’S LUXURY COLLECTION OPENS IN GERMANY: The Luxury Collection, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio, has forayed into Germany with the opening of Koenigshof, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Munich. Located neat Munich’s “Stachus” Square, the hotel has been designed by architects Nieto Sobejano. Reflecting the history of the House of Wittelsbach, the former Bavarian ruling family, Koenigshof showcases artworks by national and international artists. The hotel features 106 rooms with luxury amenities, including a 250-meter split-level presidential suite with a private sauna and a pool. The hotel also offers three dining venues, a fitness center and two event rooms. The Luxury Collection’s portfolio consists of 110 properties across 40 countries.
PRG HOSPITALITY REBRANDS: PRG Hospitality Group, the California-based hotel group, has rebranded under a new name — Common Thread Hotels. The new identity will replace the PRG name in all facets of sales, marketing, branding and corporate relations. All the existing and upcoming openings will be branded under the Common Thread Hotels umbrella, alongside its on-site restaurants and spas. The company has launched a refreshed website with new aesthetic rebranding, along with a reimagined logo, brand narrative, imagery, video content and storytelling. The group opened its first hotel, Colony Palms Hotel in Palm Springs, in 2008 which was sold in 2012.
AZORA ACQUISITIONS IN BRUSSELS: Azora, the Madrid-based real estate investment manager, has completed the acquisition of two hotels and two adjacent buildings to the hotels in Brussels on behalf of its Azora European Hotel and Lodging Fund. The two hotels — Hotel Berger and Hotel Jardin Secret — comprise a total of 99 rooms. The two adjacent buildings offer Azora the opportunity to create a hotel with 130 beds. The properties have a shared private garden with a pool. The hotels will be managed by Latroupe, the Madrid-based European hostel and lifestyle hotel operating platform launched by Azora in 2021. These additions expand Latroupe’s portfolio to eight assets and 1,600 beds across Madrid, Bilbao, Brussels, Dublin and Barcelona.
COURTYARD BY MARRIOTT DEBUTS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA: Courtyard by Marriott, part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, has arrived in Southern California with the opening of the Courtyard by Marriott La Paz, Baja California Sur. Located in the Puerta Cortés area, the hotel is owned by Operadora Hotelera Mar de Cortés. The hotel offers 151 rooms, a restaurant, bar, fitness center, an outdoor pool and three meeting rooms which can accommodate up to 180 people.
