Black Rock Hotels, owned by Adrian Fullan, announced the opening of Gray’s at Bushmills, a 17-bed boutique hotel on the Antrim coast. This establishment, supported by Ulster Bank, occupies the former Smugglers Inn site. The hotel, named in tribute to Fullan’s late grandmother, Ellen Gray, features individually-styled rooms, a brasserie led by chef Simon Turner, and all-inclusive wedding packages. Located near the Giant’s Causeway and Old Bushmills Distillery, it aims to boost local tourism. Fullan expressed enthusiasm for the venture, supported by Ulster Bank, highlighting its potential economic impact. Ulster Bank’s Davina Kerr echoed this sentiment, praising Fullan’s vision for enhancing local tourism.

Ninebanks Hostel and Chalet in Northumberland is on the market for £675k. Nestled in the North Pennines AONB, it attracts visitors to Hadrian’s Wall and the Lake District. The property includes an 18th-century four-bedroom cottage for owners, a separate six-room hostel accommodating up to 28 guests, and a two-bedroom chalet. Current owners Pauline Elliott and Ian Baker, who have run the hostel for 33 years, are selling to move on. Mark Worley of Christie and Co highlighted the growing demand for lifestyle businesses, noting Ninebanks’ potential for offering an idyllic lifestyle and steady income.

Tribe London Canary Wharf has been awarded Green Key status, an international eco-label for tourism facilities, reflecting its commitment to high environmental standards. The hotel partners with the Made Blue Foundation to provide clean drinking water, encouraging guests to shorten showers and donating to the water project. The hotel has also replaced water cartons with reusable glass bottles and installed water filtration systems. Environmental manager Eva Senhub praised the certification as a testament to the hotel’s sustainability efforts, while project manager Neha Sheoran highlighted the positive impact of their initiatives on both the environment and local communities.

The Glencarse Hotel in Perthshire is for sale with a freehold price of £495k after 11 years of family management. Positioned on the A90 between Perth and Dundee, the 18th-century hotel features five en-suite rooms, a public bar, and a restaurant suitable for events and weddings. It also includes a beer garden, large garden area with development potential, and a three-bedroom owner’s accommodation. Simon Watson of Christie and Co emphasised the hotel’s growth potential, suggesting the owner’s accommodation could be converted into additional rooms and the land developed, making it an attractive opportunity for owner-operators or portfolio investors.
