#Interview 🎤
As we recently announced the significant expansion of Centrum Černý Most – one of Prague’s most popular shopping destinations, Jakub Skwarlo, COO for Central Europe sat down with Czech Republic’s most visited online newsroom Seznam Zprávy, to talk about the project.

“URW has invested in Centrum Černý Most over the years including expansion projects in 1997, 2000 and 2013. As demand continues to grow from both retailers and customers visiting the centre, we are delighted to increase the space by a further 10,000 square meters. We have two more shopping centers in Prague and we will continue to explore other opportunities with them in the future. There is no change in our strategy – we are targeting the important city of Prague, where we can continue to develop in line with market opportunities whilst addressing customer needs.”, Jakub explains.

And he adds, “Customers today expect much more. When they enter a shopping center, they want to feel good, spend time in well-designed spaces with natural light and qualitative finishes. The conversion rate has increased as people visit malls with a specific goal in mind. This means, in practice, that the same traffic generates much higher sales – a positive trend we’re seeing. The situation is similar abroad, where we have large shopping centers in many European cities and the performance is already above pre-covid levels.”
