Detroit Slims will be a 30-cover restaurant and will open in the city centre at Circle Square on Oxford Road.

It will serve what is described as ‘a game changing approach’ to Detroit-style pizza with the menu to feature 10-inch-long rectangle shaped pizza in options that include the Cheese Burger Slim, BBQ Meat Feast, the Shroom Slim, as well as the signature The Pepperoni Crown.

Prices will start at £5.

Also available will be a variety of house-made dips including kimchi mayo, hot honey, and dill and jalapeño ranch as well as sides including chicken tenders in cajun pepper, and scooper fries.

The drinks menu will feature thick ‘Slim Shaky’ milkshakes in a range of flavours including banoffee pie and Detroit-style ‘bumpy cake’ – a vanilla, chocolate and butterscotch cake.

There will be a selection of other desserts, including ice cream sandwiches, cookie trays and soft-serve ice creams

The brand is inspired by the team’s love of Detroit which, like Manchester, is known for its working-class culture and rich music scene, as well as its unique take on pizza.

“Detroit Slims has been in the works for a while now and we are so excited to finally introduce this new concept,” says Dan Mullen, director at Detroit Slims.

“Detroit has been a city close to our hearts since we first visited, so much so, we brought a piece of it back home when we opened Ramona in 2021. Detroit Slims is the newest iteration of our love for Detroit-style pizza.”

The team has plans to open another Detroit Slims location in Greater Manchester by the end of the year and eventually expand across the country.

“All of our bases will be made right here in the city, and eventually, as the brand grows, they will be shipped across the country to reach our other locations,” says Will Taplin, Detroit Slims executive chef.

“There is nothing like Detroit Slims in the UK, and we’re ready to introduce ourselves with some proper American hospitality.”
