The Notting Hill restaurant opened in 2007 in a converted butcher’s shop and served a menu of classic British dishes. 

Prior to launching Hereford Road was head chef of St. John Bread and Wine in Spitalfields. 

The chef was heavily influenced by his time working under St. John’s chef founder Fergus Henderson focusing on nose-to-tail cuisine and putting the emphaisis firmly on seasonal ingredients sourced from high-quality British producers.

Hereford Road featured on Restaurant’s list of the top 100 restaurants in the UK in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013.

Dishes included grilled new season’s asparagus comes with hazelnuts; lamb’s sweetbreads with green beans and mint; and roast guinea fowl with lentils, wild garlic and mushrooms. 

A note on the Notting Hill restaurant’s website reads: “After 17 wonderful years Hereford Road is now closed. Thank you to all our customers – you have been a true delight. Tom, Fabio and all the staff past and present.”
