The street food operator is taking over Camden’s Buck Street Market and will operate a three-floor venue that will also feature two bars and a rooftop terrace, subject to planning permission.

Since acquiring the site in April, Boxpark has transformed the market alongside Places for London, Transport for London’s property company. It says the investment in renovations will see an improvement of the overall site facilities, alongside the installation of new paintwork, flooring, and signage, with the construction of a roof coming towards the end of the year.

Traders confirmed at the venue so far include BBQ smokehouse Chipsy and Philippe Conticini, who is famed for the viral giant croissant, as well as Yorkshire Burrito and Black Bear Burger.

“This has been such an exciting and rewarding challenge for Boxpark so far, and one we cannot wait to see the results of. It’s no secret we have a love of locations beaming with culture and community, and Camden is no different,” says Ben McLaughlin, Boxpark chief operating officer.

“The iconic town has been a fan-favourite for years, boasting a world of food, music and the arts that is clearly aligned with us.

“We are committed to flying the flag for independent businesses across the country, and this restoration will allow us to continue this in one of the most significant takeovers London will see this year.

“Following our Liverpool opening earlier this year, this next step for us is just the beginning of our upcoming expansion plans, and we cannot wait to see the response from the Camden community.”

Earlier this year, Boxpark launched its latest site in Liverpool, its first outside of the capital.

Located in the historic Canning Hall at Cains Brewery Village, the 1,500 capacity venue is the group’s fourth venue in the UK since it launched in 2011, joining sites in Croydon, Wembley and the soon-to-close Shoreditch site.
