The Italian restaurant, delicatessen and bar will open on Quay Street in the city in the spring of 2025, 80 years since the original Italian delicatessen opened its doors on Soho’s Brewer Street.

It will be the London-based brand’s first regional UK opening outside of London and marks a continued expansion for the group, which has opened a number of sites in the capital over the past few years.

It will open its eighth venue in Shoreditch later this month having recently opened a site on South Kensington’s Exhibition Road.

The brand also operates three venues in Japan.

The Manchester Lina Stores will occupy the ground floor of the recently refurbished Quoin building, situated opposite the Opera House. It will have space for 150 covers and will be open all day, serving an Italian-inspired breakfast menu, fresh, handmade pasta, antipasti, secondi and dolci from lunch through to dinner.

Dishes will include breakfast options such as truffle scrambled eggs with toasted sourdough; Greek yoghurt with Italian Macedonia fruit salad; and a selection of breakfast panini.

Lunch and dinner items will include a selection of antipasti such as ricotta and herb gnudi fritti with Calabrian chilli marmellata; and tuna crudo with capers, pink peppercorn and salsa verde, followed by pasta dishes such as a 30-egg yolk tagliolini with black truffle; and pappardelle with lamb sausage ragù.

Heartier secondi dishes will include luganega fennel sausage with escarole and chilli; and chicken Milanese with Amalfi lemon.

The delicatessen will stock salads, sandwiches, cakes and Italian coffee for eat-in or takeaway while the adjacent Bar Lina will serve classic and modern twists on Italian cocktails and a wine list consisting of organic and biodynamic wines from across Italy.

The interior will feature Lina Stores’ signature colour palette of pastel green, terrazzo and timber flooring, bespoke marble tables, original vintage Bentwood chairs, dark green booth seating, and opaline globe lighting inspired by the original Brewer Street delicatessen.
“We’re extremely excited to be opening in Manchester this spring,” says Masha Rener, Lin Stores head chef.
“The city feels like a natural home for us considering the area’s rich history, vibrant culinary scene and lively night life, and look forward to sharing our passion of great Italian food and produce with the Manchester community.”

Lina Stores is one a number of London-based restaurant groups to have expanded into Manchester in the past few months, or intend to do so in the future, including Flat Iron, Blacklock, Caravan, and Chotto Matte.
