Consultancy firm Mainmatter has revealed a list of its top essential strategies that could redefine the future of travel technology.

Drawing from expertise in the industry as well as working with some of the most forward thinking tech teams in the world, Mainmatter has provided actionable insights that industry leaders can learn from the leading tech teams in the world.

The pressure to modernise legacy systems, offer enjoyable and integrated user experiences, and build and maintain agile and innovative teams is more critical than ever, the firm said.

In response to these “pressing” issues, it has identified key strategies that can help businesses unlock their full potential and achieve sustainable growth.

It found from its research that the importance of moving away from outdated systems and embracing innovation to meet the expectations of today’s tech-savvy travelers is needed.

The whitepaper highlighted that for today’s digital generation of travelers, cluttered or intuitive user experiences can be a company’s downfall.

Mainmatter advocates for a fully integrated approach where every touchpoint, whether on mobile, desktop, or voice-activated systems, offers a seamless and enjoyable user journey.

Legacy systems are often the biggest barrier to progress. Mainmatter emphasised the need to replace these outdated infrastructures with scalable technologies that not only support current demands but also allow for future growth.

It found that in an industry that’s constantly changing, having a team that’s both agile and innovative is non-negotiable.

Companies fostering a culture of innovation are better equipped to adapt and thrive.

Finally, growth in the travel sector isn’t just about expanding customer bases; it’s about retaining top talent, fostering innovation, and continually evolving offerings.

Mainmatter outlines strategies for achieving sustainable growth by focusing on these key areas in its Travel Transformation Whitepaper.

“The difference between the best and worst product development organizations in the industry is dramatic and the negative impact on the business is hard to overestimate when you’re among the latter,” said Marco Otte-Witte, managing director of Mainmatter.

“The best teams in the industry ship great products fast, predictable, and efficiently, while the worst struggle to ship anything at all.

“We combine our expertise in the travel, transport, and mobility industries with our experience working with the leading tech teams in the world and our strong technical expertise from having been at the forefront of tech innovation for many years to help companies bring their digital product development abilities to the next level.”
