TIVOLI ADDS SECOND LOCATION IN ITALY: Tivoli Hotels & Resorts, part of Minor Hotels, has added its second property in Italy with the opening of Tivoli Palazzo Gaddi Firenze Hotel in Florence. The luxury palace has opened following a complete renovation over the past few years. Originally comprising two buildings belonging to two Florentine families, the Gaddis and the Arrighettis, the hotel dates back to the 16th century. Featuring typical Florentine architecture, the palace’s renovation was overseen by interior designers, Patrizia Quartero and Guy Oliver. The hotel offers 86 rooms, including eight suites, a fine dining restaurant, rooftop bar, lobby bar and event spaces. The hotel is situated close to cultural attractions, including the Duomo complex, the Piazzale Michelangelo, the Medici Chapel and the San Lorenzo market.
REMINGTON EXPANDS CALA PORTFOLIO: Remington Hospitality has expanded its presence in the Caribbean and Latin America region and added its first hotel in Puerto Rico. The hotel management company has been selected to manage Hotel Miramar, a boutique hotel in the Miramar district of San Juan, Puerto Rico. Located close to Old San Juan, cruise ship terminals and the Puerto Rico Convention Center, Hotel Miramar overlooks the Condado Lagoon. The hotel has a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the Condado Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, sundeck and a fitness center. The hotel will soon launch a café and bar. Remington will undertake a renovation of the hotel and has started working with the owners to upgrade the rooms, update technology and enhance the overall guest experience. Currently, Remington manages 135 hotels across 27 states and Washington, D.C. under 33 brands, including 16 independent and boutique properties.
U.S. PERFORMANCE UPDATE: The U.S. hotel industry reported mostly negative YOY comparisons, according to CoStar’s data through September 14.

- RevPAR: $107.86 (-1.4%)
Among the top 25 markets, San Diego reported the highest YOY increase in occupancy (+10.5% to 79.9%), while Chicago reported the largest increase in ADR (+15.5% to $216.57). San Francisco (-37.2% to $171.26) posted the steepest RevPAR decline, due to a comparison against the week of Dreamforce 2023.
SUSTAINABLE CERTIFICATION FOR MANDARIN ORIENTAL NYC: Mandarin Oriental, New York has received the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Certification, becoming the first hotel in North America to receive the accreditation for a sustainable property. Some of the sustainability initiatives that the hotel had adopted include eliminating single-use plastics, committing to responsible procurement from certified suppliers for its F&B offerings, reducing energy intensity and carbon footprint through waste reduction and energy efficiency and minimizing social impact through local community engagement. The GSTC is an independent non-profit organization that establishes and manages global standards for sustainable travel and tourism.
