Hyatt Hotels Corp. is expanding its luxury and lifestyle hotels across the Americas region, with the addition of properties in new markets as well as through the expansion of its wellness offerings. The lodging company has a development pipeline of more than 20 recent and planned openings in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean through 2025.
Since 2017, Hyatt has doubled the number of its luxury rooms, tripled its number of resort rooms and quintupled its number of lifestyle rooms worldwide. In its recent Mid-Year Consumer Sentiment and Travel Experiences Report, Hyatt found that 88% of its consumers are showing a steady intent for leisure travel.
“From Deer Valley to Miami to Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico, our luxury and lifestyle brands’ expansion in new and key markets is driven by our desire to offer travelers more opportunities to explore the communities our hotels are a part of and the chance to embark on experiences with Hyatt,” said Crystal Vinisse Thomas, vice president and global brand leader for Hyatt’s luxury and lifestyle brands.
Hyatt’s planned acquisition of Standard International, the parent company of The Standard and Bunkhouse Hotels brands, will diversify its lifestyle offerings. Hyatt will be introducing a new dedicated lifestyle group that will include The Standard and Bunkhouse Hotels brands, along with its restaurant and nightlife affiliates (The Boom Boom Room, The Standard Grill, Le Bain and more). Once the deal closes, Hyatt will be incorporating Standard International properties into its World of Hyatt loyalty program, which will open up more lifestyle options for the program’s 48 million members.
