THREE WATERS RESORT OPENS IN FLORIDA: The Islamorada Resort Collection has announced the opening of Three Waters Resort & Marina, a Tribute Portfolio Resort in Islamorada, Fla. The new, upscale resort features 214 rooms, nine dining venues and a range of destination-based experiences. The resort offers The Cove, an adult-only “resort-within-a-resort” consisting only king rooms and suites. Situated away from the main resort and scheduled to open later this year, The Cove includes a private beach lagoon, pool and the Wave Motion Studio. The resort has collaborated with BOTE, which will allow guests to access active products such as kayaks and stand-up paddleboards and more leisurely items, like inflatable floats. The resort also has a 72-slip marina.
MOXY HOTELS ARRIVES IN BARCELONA: Moxy Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of more than 30 hotel brands, has launched in Spain with the opening of Moxy Barcelona. Inspired by Barcelona’s festival atmosphere, the hotel’s design showcases elements reminiscent of artists such as painters Salvador Dalí and Joan Miró and modernist architect Antoni Gaudí. The hotel features 414 rooms in a “smart layout,” with each room having a private balcony. The hotel has a rooftop space on the 10th floor with a pool, with a rooftop restaurant and bar scheduled to open in early 2025. Amenities include a grab-and-go kiosk, fitness center and event spaces. At present, Moxy Hotels’ portfolio includes more than 135 hotels across 25 countries.
NEWCRESTIMAGE ACQUIRES IN DALLAS: NewcrestImage has added to its luxury full-service portfolio with the acquisition of The Beeman Hotel in Dallas. The 296-room hotel will be managed by Coury Hospitality. Located adjacent to the Southern Methodist University and the George W. Bush Presidential Library, the hotel underwent renovations in 2021 and features an indoor pool, a fitness center, lounge with video games, dining venues and 12,000 square feet of conference space. Coury Hospitality, along with its Concert Hospitality affiliate, currently manages four upscale hotels for NewcrestImage in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
NH COLLECTION TO ADD MALDIVES RESORT: Minor Hotels has partnered with a private equity fund managed by Ares Management to announce the upcoming rebrand of Reethi Beach Resort as NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort. The property will open in Q4 2025 following extensive refurbishments. Located on an island in Hanifaru Bay within the Baa Atoll, the hotel resort offers 129 rooms and is a 35-minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport in Male. The resort consists of on-land and overwater villas and features 10 dining outlets, multiple pools, a spa, sports courts and a fitness center. The resort will remain open until April 25, 2025, following which it will be closed for six months for renovations and rebrand into NH Collection. The villas, dining venues and leisure facilities will be upgraded. NH Collection Maldives Reethi Resort will be Minor Hotels’ ninth property in the Maldives and the second NH Collection-branded hotel.
