Former Virgin Voyages vice-president of international sales Shane Lewis-Riley is joining escorted tours specialist Titan Travel.

He is to start with the Saga Group tour operator on October 14 in the newly created role of trade distribution director.

The move sees him reunite with John Constable, Saga Travel Group chief executive, who headed STA Travel when Lewis-Riley worked for the youth travel brand, which ceased trading in 2020.

Lewis-Riley moved to Virgin Voyages in 2018 after working for P&O Cruises as director of trade engagement and onboard sales. He has more than 20 years of experience in the industry.

He is to attend the Association of Touring and Adventure Suppliers (Atas) annual conference in Leeds on October 15-16 in his new role.

A statement from Titan Travel said he will “play a pivotal role” in shaping the future of Titan’s trade strategy and lead the team of key account managers across the UK.

Andy Squirrell, chief commercial officer at Titan Travel, said: “We are delighted to welcome Shane, a trusted and experienced industry professional, into this newly created role at Titan.

“Shane will bring fresh ideas and a new perspective as we continue to innovate and strengthen our relationships with agents.

“Under his leadership, we’re confident that our trade distribution will reach new heights, and our dedicated key account managers will be even better equipped to support our valued partners across the UK.”

Lewis-Riley added: “I’m thrilled to be joining such a well-established and respected brand in the escorted touring market at this pivotal moment, as we set out to elevate our approach with the trade.

“The strong partnerships Titan has built with the trade are integral to our continued success, and I’m eager to strengthen these relationships further, ensuring our trade partners receive the very best support through our unrivalled service and trade initiatives.”

His appointment follows the announcement about the departure of Titan Travel head of trade Hayley Morris who is joining Newmarket Holidays as head of trade sales and partnerships.

Lewis-Riley’s departure from Virgin Voyages was announced last month.
