Bill Allen set to leave OTA next year
On the Beach chief supply officer Bill Allen is to step down next year after more than a decade with the OTA.
He joined the company in 2014 and has been responsible for the supply of accommodation, aviation, transportation and ancillary products.
Allen, who has had a 30-year career in senior management roles in the travel industry including MyTravel and On Holiday Group, will leave the business in September 2025.
He was a key part of the management team that listed On the Beach on the London Stock Exchange in 2015 and instrumental in leading the OTA to direct hotel contracting. On the Beach now sources over 90% of its rooms directly from hoteliers.
Allen said: “I have planned this next stage in close collaboration with the leadership team at On the Beach, and my family, for some time.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with some fantastic teams at On the Beach over the last eleven years and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together.
“Over the next 12 months, I’ll be working on a transitionary plan with my team to ensure they’re set up for success to support the business now, and in future.
“In terms of what will come next, I’m looking forward to some more leisure time with my family while continuing to support the wider travel industry through non-executive and advisory work.”
On the Beach chief executive Shaun Morton said: “I’d like to thank Bill for his support, dedication and the impact he’s had on our business over the last eleven years.
“We’ll be incredibly sad to see him go, but in the meantime will be making the most of his expertise and advice as he works with his teams to transition and support our future growth.”
