The Elizabeth Arthotel in the renowned ski resort of Ischgl is delighted to announce its grand reopening for the 2024/25 winter season on 28 November, inviting guests to an extraordinary experience where luxury, art and world-class skiing meet.
Nestled in the centre of Ischgl, one of the most exclusive destinations in the Austrian Alps, this ski-in/ski-out five-star hotel offers guests a perfect combination of refined modern luxury, impeccable service and snow-sure winter adventure.
The Elizabeth Arthotel, founded in 1976 by the Aloys family, ensures that every aspect of a guest’s stay is indulgent and sophisticated. The hotel’s 39 luxurious rooms and suites offer panoramic views out onto the Alps, while inside, artworks by contemporary artists adorn the walls, corridors and the lobby. The Elizabeth is unique in that it’s both a hotel and gallery, showcasing a curated collection of over 130 artworks from leading artists from Austria and neighbouring European countries, including Herbert Brandl and Leon Löwentraut along with seasonal exhibitions and artistic collaborations.
Equally impressive is the hotel’s rooftop spa, where floor-to-ceiling glass invites the stunning mountain landscape to become part of the wellness experience. The 7th floor infinity pool offers breathtaking views of the slopes, while the Finnish and organic saunas deliver an invigorating and restorative retreat. The spa brings together the natural beauty of the Alps with state-of-the-art relaxation facilities, ensuring a truly immersive experience of wellness and tranquillity.
Led by the masterful Austrian Head Chef Thomas Zechner, the hotel’s gourmet dining experience offers a culinary journey of discovery using seasonal local produce. Each evening, guests are treated to a six-course tasting menu, featuring 46 distinct dishes per week, each expertly paired with fine wines from the Elizabeth’s vast collection, regarded as one of the best in Ischgl.
Ischgl has the distinction of being ranked as one of the top 10 ski resorts in the world by Forbes (2024). Along with a unique microclimate that delivers snow-sure conditions throughout the long season, from November to May, the resort also benefits from an exciting variety of runs, cross-border skiing into Switzerland and challenges for skiers of all levels.
With its premium ski-in/ski-out access to place guests directly on the slopes and in-house ski service and shop providing expertise, equipment and guidance, the Elizabeth offers ski enthusiasts a remarkable winter experience.
The hotel’s renowned Schatzi Bar offers lively daily après-ski that provides the perfect conclusion to an unforgettable day on the slopes. Often described as ‘Ibiza of the Alps’, the exclusive Ischgl nightlife and entertainment has seen it ranked as the 3rd best après-ski destination worldwide by Forbes (2024). This upcoming season will open with pop singer Ellie Goulding headlining the iconic Top of the Mountain concert on 30 November.
Mirjam Aloys, Director of the Elizabeth Arthotel, says: “Since 1963 when my grandfather Erwin Aloys helped transform Ischgl into a prominent ski resort, my family and I have had the privilege of welcoming guests to the area, and over the years, they have truly become part of our extended family.”
She adds, “At the heart of our hotel is the ‘Elizabeth Family’ – a concept that includes not just our guests, but also our dedicated staff, family, friends, and the Ischgl community. Together, they help us create the warm and inclusive environment we are known for. From exceptional service to carefully curated art and culinary experiences, we ensure that each stay is not just memorable but deeply personal – we want it to be a true reflection of our family legacy.”
