Choice Hotels International is expanding its upscale segment across the U.S. and has achieved three new Cambria Hotel openings and two groundbreakings this fall.
The recently opened properties, located in Imperial, Calif.; Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; and Spokane, Wash., and upcoming groundbreakings in O’Fallon, Mo. and Bend, Ore. introduce Cambria into new markets, building on Choice’s goal to bring the brand to more regions nationwide.
With these latest openings, Choice has opened 18 new Cambria hotels in the last two years, including those in downtown Denver, Delaware’s Rehoboth Beach and Niagara Falls, N.Y. These properties add to the brand’s pipeline of 62 hotels, including the Cambria New York Times Square, which is slated to open in 2025.
The recently opened Cambria hotels include:
- Cambria Hotel El Centro-Imperial: The latest Cambria location in California opened in September. The boutique hotel features 108 rooms, 2,050 square feet of meeting space and is close to the Anza Borrego Desert State Park, Algodones Dunes and Imperial County Fairgrounds. This is the fifth Cambria hotel to open in California as the brand widens its reach on the West Coast.
- Cambria Hotel Pigeon Forge: Opened in October, the hotel is located close to the popular attractions in the Smoky Mountains. The hotel offers 118 rooms, an onsite dining, a pool with views of Mt. LeConte and 738 square feet of meeting space. The opening of the hotel marks the fourth Cambria hotel in Tennessee.
- Cambria Hotel Spokane Airport: The first Cambria property in the state of Washington, the hotel is located close to Riverfront Park, Gonzaga University and the Spokane International Airport. Opened in September, the hotel has 91 rooms, an onsite restaurant, 1,020 square feet of meeting space and offers complimentary airport transportation.
The Cambria hotels which have broken ground include:
- Cambria Hotel Bend Oregon: The 131-room hotel is located within walking distance of the Old Mill District, the Deschutes River and downtown Bend. Demand for accommodations are steered by the year-round demand for hiking, fishing and skiing at Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort. The hotel is scheduled to open in 2026.
- Cambria Hotel O’Fallon Missouri: Located in the St. Louis metropolitan region, the 118-room hotel will mark Cambria’s debut in Missouri when it opens in 2026. Local demand is driven by manufacturing, automotive and aerospace, financial services and data centers.
“Our strategic investments in upscale are reaping rewards and there’s little doubt that the Cambria brand is a vital part of this success,” said Indy Adenaw, senior vice president and general manager of upscale brands, Choice Hotels International. “Each of these new openings represents our commitment to bringing Cambria to every state and giving more travelers the chance to experience the unique amenities, local-inspired design and unparalleled service that have cemented this brand as a top upscale option.”
These new Cambria properties, along with Choice Hotels’ portfolio of upscale and upper upscale brands (including Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson Individuals, Radisson RED and more) participate in the rewards program, Choice Privileges.
Choice Hotels has been growing its upscale portfolio in the recent years. The company acquired the Radisson Hotels Americas group in 2022 and has invested in repositioning its brands. In its latest earnings announcement, Choice Hotels announced record pipeline growth, with upscale hotels driving the growth.
