WeRoad launches community-designed WeRoadX tours in the UK, France and Germany
Following the successful launch of WeRoadX in Italy and Spain, the group travel innovator is expanding the offering to more European travellers
Tour operator for solo travellers WeRoad has announced the launch of its WeRoadX marketplace in the UK, France and Germany.
Previously only available in Italy and Spain, WeRoadX itineraries are designed by the most experienced members of WeRoad’s travel coordinator community.
The launch of the marketplace in three new territories opens the door for the coming expansion throughout Europe and beyond.
WeRoad travel coordinators are not local experts but seasoned travellers who manage an itinerary for small groups of 8 to 15 people.
This facilitates trips that revolve around the experience of travelling together instead of being led by a guide with a specific knowledge set.
This new model expands WeRoad’s offerings through trips with themes that could only have come from coordinators themselves.
The platform also gives partners like WeRoadX travel producers or DMCs the freedom to create and sell itineraries and experiences that might otherwise be beyond their reach.
The platform provides users with the tools they need to deliver a comprehensive travel experience, from developing itineraries and tours to managing services and overseeing the entire travel and post-travel experience.
Andrea D’Amico, CEO of WeRoad, said: “We’ve been very deliberate in how we’ve launched WeRoadX itineraries on our platform.
“It was a totally new way of investing in our travel coordinator community. We’ve been amazed by their dedication and creativity in every aspect of designing and leading WeRoadX tours. It’s also prompted several of our coordinators to quit their jobs to do this full-time.
“Our coordinators live, breathe and dream travel so expect epic, unforgettable adventure experiences to the most remote corners of the globe.”
In Spain and Italy, WeRoadX coordinators have designed over 800 new itineraries to incredible destinations and in pursuit of amazing experiences.
These have included celebrating Día de Los Muertos in the Yucatán Peninsula, hiking the mountains of the Kyrgyzstan-China border, scuba diving in the Maldives, and following Harry Potter’s pop legacy through England and Scotland.
WeRoadX coordinators not only lead trips but also have the potential to earn a substantial income comparable to a regular full-time job, with some coordinators earning up to €60,000 a year.
Since its launch, 30% of WeRoad travellers based in Italy have chosen a WeRoadX itinerary.
Last year, WeRoadX trips accounted for one-third of WeRoad’s business in Italy and Spain.
Twenty new WeRoadX trips are now available for purchase in the UK, France and Germany.
