Wyndham has expanded its presence in India and has opened the first Wyndham Garden-branded hotel in the country — Wyndham Garden Sonipat Murthal in Haryana. The hotel is owned and operated by New Delhi-based Rajdhani Realcon Pvt. Ltd., a real estate and hotel development company.
Located off NH-44 and sitting close to the Sonipat Junction, the hotel provides easy access to major travel hubs, including the international airport in New Delhi. The 81-room hotel offers a range of amenities, including an all-day dining restaurant, lobby lounge, fitness center, spa, pool, business center and event spaces.
“The launch of Wyndham Garden Sonipat Murthal is a significant milestone in Wyndham’s expansion in North India, particularly within the National Capital Region. As our first Wyndham Garden hotel in the country, it highlights the growing importance of midscale brands in meeting the increasing demand for affordable, high-quality accommodations,” said Dimitris Manikis, president, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
“With India’s travel sector thriving, driven by a rising middle class and improved connectivity, Wyndham is strategically positioned to cater to the evolving needs of today’s travelers. This growth is central to our global strategy, reinforcing our commitment to delivering exceptional service and world-class stays for every traveler,” he added.
The Wyndham Garden Sonipat Murthal in Haryana marks a significant step in Wyndham’s continuing expansion in India. With this hotel, Wyndham now has hotels open or under development in India under nine of its 25 brands.
In October, Wyndham announced it would be growing its brand portfolio and India and inked an exclusive agreement with NILE Hospitality LLP to launch Microtel, making it the eighth Wyndham brand to debut in India. The partnership aims to open 40 Microtel hotels across India by 2031. The Microtel hotels will mostly be located in key tier II, III and IV cities, aligning with India’s infrastructure development cycle. The first set of hotels are expected to open in 2025. Each hotel will have 50 rooms along with fitness centers and meeting and social spaces.
Thanks to the “incredible opportunity” in India, Wyndham is focusing on launching more brands in the country, Manikis had said while announcing the launch of Microtel in India. Microtel is an ideal example of a brand that can be purpose-built for the market, he added.
Designed to address the rising demand for midscale, service-oriented hotels, Wyndham Garen has more than 160 hotels across the world, in key urban, suburban and transportation hubs.
