IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has announced the addition of Vignette Collection to its portfolio with the opening of Union Han, Istanbul Karaköy, scheduled for 2025. The property, owned by Cortex Turizm, will become IHG’s 16th hotel in Istanbul when it opens in the second half of 2025.
Located in the historic Tütün Han building, the hotel will feature 51 rooms, an artisanal bakery, an all-day dining restaurant, and high-end wellness facilities, including a spa.
This hotel is part of IHG’s broader expansion strategy in Turkey, contributing to a total of 45 hotels in the country, either open or signed. It also joins IHG’s growing global portfolio of Vignette Collection, which aims to reach 100 hotels within the next decade, further strengthening IHG’s luxury and lifestyle offerings, one of the world’s largest, with nearly 900 properties open or signed.
IHG Hotels & Resorts celebrates the momentum of Vignette Collection, which has surpassed 50 open and pipeline properties. Just three years after the brand’s introduction into IHG’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio, the collection has exceeded half of its initial goal of 100 open and pipeline hotels over a ten-year period. Today, there are 19 Vignette Collection hotels open worldwide, with 34 more in development, marking the brand’s debut in markets such as Japan, Vietnam, and the Maldives.
IHG’s luxury conversion brand allows owners to maintain the identity and character of their properties. True to the brand’s spirit, Union Han, Istanbul Karaköy will introduce the “A Means for Good” initiative, highlighting the hotel’s partnerships with local nonprofit organizations and positively contributing to the community.
Currently, IHG Hotels & Resorts operates 32 hotels in Turkey, with 13 more in development. Union Han, Istanbul Karaköy adds to other recent projects, such as the first Garner hotel near the new Istanbul International Airport and the InterContinental Ankara, which is expected to open in 2025.
