Radisson Collection makes South African debut with Cape Town hotel

Radisson Hotel Group has introduced its Radisson Collection brand in South Africa with the opening of Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront Cape Town. The former Radisson Blu hotel located on Cape Town’s Atlantic coastline underwent extensive renovations to reopen under the luxury lifestyle brand.

The refurbished hotel features 175 rooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies. Dining options include a restaurant, bar and terrace that celebrates local and international flavors. The restaurant will be refurbished in July 2025 to offer an enhanced dining experience. The hotel also features a new café in the west atrium.

“We are delighted to introduce the Radisson Collection brand to South Africa with this remarkable property in Cape Town, a city renowned for its natural beauty, history, and cultural vibrancy. By transforming the Radisson Blu Hotel Waterfront, Cape Town through an extensive refurbishment, we’ve elevated this beloved landmark into a true destination that captures the very essence of Cape Town,” said Tim Cordon, COO, Middle East, Africa and South East Asia Pacific at Radisson Hotel Group.

Radisson Collection Hotel, Waterfront Cape Town’s design has been inspired by the meeting of land and sea and captures the essence of the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged Table Mountain. The interiors celebrate African craftsmanship, with locally sourced materials and art installations reflecting the city’s culture. The hotel has an art gallery with curated pieces, which showcase the local fashion and architecture.

The hotel has an infinity pool overlooking the ocean, a fitness center and a spa and wellness center. For meetings and events, the hotel offers three event rooms that can be combined to accommodate up to 350 guests along with a smaller boardroom for smaller gatherings. The hotel includes a space complemented by marina views and a dedicated boardwalk access.
