Eaton, a global leader in intelligent power management, is boosting its portfolio of electric vehicle chargers to include the Green Motion Duo EV charger and the Green Motion 30 and 60.

These new EV chargers, the first providing effective charging for two vehicles simultaneously, and the second, for fast charging in commercial settings, will be available from 2025.

The new chargers support Eaton’s Buildings as a Grid approach which uses the latest technologies to transform buildings into energy efficient hubs that deliver cost savings, lower carbon footprint, and revenue generation if fees are levied for charging.

Both AC and DC options are available to suit the needs of different buildings, and the chargers will be backed by Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) to provide purchasers with reassurance about lifecycle assessment (LCA) integrity.

The Green Motion Duo charges two EVs at the same time with up to 22 kW each. This reduces the investment costs of EV infrastructure and is ideal in settings where two vehicles are regularly parked together.

These EV chargers make use of compact spaces, such as driveways or garages and can be mounted on the wall, floor or ceiling.

The Green Motion DC 30 and Green Motion DC 60 EV chargers provide two different high power capacity options for fast charging. Both EV chargers are suitable for providing ‘destination charging’ – the electricity top-ups that EV drivers sometimes need when they are visiting locations away from their home base.

These EV chargers are particularly suitable for installation at supermarkets or restaurants, as well as for roadside charging due to their high-power fast charging capabilities.

The DC chargers are capable of bi-directional charging, ensuring longevity as roadside EV charging infrastructure develops for vehicle-to-grid (V2G) charging. They are ISO15118 compliant and through their ‘Plug & Charge feature’ they enable easy and smooth charging.

The Green Motion Duo and the two new Green Motion DC EV chargers are all capable of dynamic load balancing, meaning they can adapt charging output based on the energy demand of the chargers and the building or site to which they are connected to avoid hitting capacity limits.

As well as this, the high uptime of the devices ensures immediate availability, which is a benefit for Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and users, particularly if the vehicles belong to a fleet.

Green Motion EV chargers are compliant with the EU’s Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR) with registration-free payment methods.

This means that the chargers can be used in public locations as well as semi-public locations which are on private land accessible to the public. The modern digital interfaces make the chargers easy for customers to use, and easy for installers to service with remote software upgrades and maintenance.

All the new EV chargers are suitable for indoor and outdoor use, and applications designed for quick, easy, and therefore cost-effective installation thanks to minimal commissioning time based on a standardised procedure across the whole range.

The modular design minimises the additional of external components. On average installations are 25% quicker using Green Motion EV chargers compared to the market standard.

The dependability of the chargers is backed by a range of warranties to give customers extra peace of mind. Eaton’s local service support and service partners also provide quick problem resolution and spare part sourcing, if needed.

Additionally, all chargers are connected to Eaton’s remote monitoring platform for quick issue detection, maximising uptime.

Eaton’s Green Motion electric vehicle chargers incorporate recycled plastics alongside other high-quality materials. The new products are available for preorder now.
