W Hotels, the luxury lifestyle hotel brand under Marriott International, has arrived in Brazil, with the opening of a hotel and residences in São Paulo. Located in a skyscraper on Rua Funchal in the city’s southern business district, the W São Paulo offers views of the Pinheiros River and the city skyline.

“As we unveil W São Paulo, we are not simply launching a new hotel – W Hotels is immersing itself in the energy of one of the world’s most dynamic cities,” said George Fleck, senior vice president and global brand leader, W Hotels. “W São Paulo captures the pulse of Brazil’s cultural vibrancy, blending local influences with our signature bold, distinct design.”

Featuring a modern design, the hotel features 179 rooms, including 16 suites, starting on the 25th floor. W São Paulo also offers two restaurants, three bars, a spa, gym, an outdoor pool and five event spaces. Additionally, a walkway connects Rua Funchal to Rua Helena, integrating the hotel into the surrounding area of the city.

Built on the site of the Teatro Via Funchal, the hotel’s design is a collaboration between Aflalo/Gasperini Arquitetos, with landscaping from Benedito Abbud, and interiors by Nini de Andrade Silva.

“W São Paulo was thoughtfully conceived from the ground up, tailor-made for the vibrant energy of this spirited metropolis,” said Idu Ribeiro, general manager of W São Paulo.

Currently, W Hotels has 70 destinations globally. The brand is undergoing a multi-year brand evolution to better cater to the needs of the modern traveler and offer a new generation of luxury lifestyle experience.
