Jumeirah, a global leader in luxury hospitality and a member of Dubai Holding, has announced the appointment of Thomas B. Meier as its new Chief Executive Officer. With extensive experience in the hospitality industry, he will now lead the next phase of the brand’s sustainable growth under its Mission 2030 strategy.

Thomas Meier has played a key role in the pivotal moments of Jumeirah’s development. As CEO, Thomas Meier will oversee Jumeirah’s ambitious projects to double its portfolio by 2030, with a particular focus on international expansion and strengthening the brand’s position as a global leader in luxury hospitality. The goal is to continue pushing the boundaries of the industry by offering unique guest experiences, while building on the cultural and connection values that Jumeirah is known for.

Thomas, who recently held the position of Chief Operating Officer since October 2021 and served as Interim CEO, takes on his new role at a strategic time for the brand. Under his leadership in 2024, Jumeirah successfully entered the African market with the opening of Jumeirah Thanda Island in Tanzania and Jumeirah Thanda Safari in South Africa, in addition to several other upcoming projects. At the same time, he has strengthened the leadership team with new appointments to key positions.

Thomas’ career is marked by several decades of leadership, having led operations and international expansion for renowned brands such as Raffles.

As part of its global expansion vision, Jumeirah has recently unveiled several flagship properties, including destinations such as Jumeirah Red Sea in Saudi Arabia, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab in the United Arab Emirates, and Jumeirah Le Richemond in Geneva, Switzerland.

Today, Jumeirah operates a portfolio of 30 hotels across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia. To further strengthen its position as a global leader in luxury hospitality, the brand is actively seeking expansion opportunities in major global cities and popular tourist destinations.

“Jumeirah has always set new benchmarks in luxury hospitality, consistently delivering extraordinary guest experiences. As we gear up for the opening of Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab and continue to expand into new markets, I am honoured to lead Jumeirah’s next chapter. With bold ambitions, Jumeirah will continue to innovate, staying ahead of industry trends and exceeding the ever-evolving expectations of the most discerning guests. Our vision is to establish Jumeirah as one of the foremost influential hospitality brands worldwide.” – Thomas B. Meier
