Indian hotel, The Samilton Hotel, found another level of success with STAAH with a huge surge in direct bookings and reliant channel manager.

Established in 1990, The Samilton Hotel revolutionized Kolkata’s hospitality landscape by offering a pioneering concept: a fully air-conditioned, three-star boutique hotel. It offers a comfortable and convenient stay for both business and leisure travellers. With 32 years of experience, the hotel boasts 41 well-appointed rooms and four dining options. Its prime location near Park Street provides easy access to the city’s cultural attractions, shopping districts, and business hubs. The Samilton is known for its excellent service, clean and cosy rooms, and a variety of amenities to ensure a pleasant stay.

Rate parity was a recurring challenge for the hotel, which sells across a number of different and diverse booking channels. Understanding and maintaining rate parity is crucial for hoteliers as it influences pricing strategies, revenue management, and the potential profitability of the business.

This led to the team having to frequently make manual updates to prices across online travel agents (OTAs) to avoid issues with these key partners.

Overreliance on certain OTAs and inefficient inventory management were also an issue that hindered the hotel’s ability to maximise revenue and provide a seamless guest experience.

To address and offset these continual issues, The Samilton chose to partner with STAAH, integrating with its channel manager and booking engine to boost direct bookings.

STAAH’s reputation as a leading technology provider with a user-friendly interface and comprehensive suite of tools to simplify operations made it easy for the hotel to opt for it.

The Channel Manager has helped maintain rate parity and gain better control over the hotel’s distribution channels. Additionally, the automation features have reduced manual tasks and increased efficiency. The price is updated once and it automatically updates across all channels while allotments are adjusted in real time. The visibility across a diverse range of OTAs has also improved, including meta search sites.

The STAAH booking engine was a game changer for the business. Combined with smart marketing, it helped substantially increase users to the website and direct bookings. The look to book ratio is an indicator of the success of this channel.

Importantly, the STAAH channel manager has helped the hotel to streamline its distribution process, save time and focus on other important aspects of the business.

The Samilton Hotel team praises the STAAH platform for its user-friendliness, practicality and accessibility, with the mobile app proving to be an invaluable asset for managing operations. With the STAAH mobile app hoteliers have the control of their property and the power of the platform in the palm of their hand.

STAAH is proud to be a part of the success story of The Samilton Hotel, Kolkata and wishes the team the very best for the future!
