Julian Victoria and Jacob Van Nieuwkoop, the duo behind much loved KURO Coffee and KURO Bakery in London’s Notting Hill have announced plans to transform the brand’s third location, previously KURO Eatery into KURO Bagels. Set to open its doors in late January 2025, KURO Bagels will offer high-quality artisan bagels to-go, with delivery also available through Deliveroo.

The tempting menu will focus on seasonal, locally sourced and sustainable ingredients, offering made-to-order bagels and ready-filled favourites. For made-to-order, choose bagel flavours such as Plain, Everything and Cinnamon-Raisin, paired with plain or KURO signature cream cheeses (cream chives, wasabi, roasted garlic, cinnamon and brown sugar), topped with a selection of generous pairings and flavoursome fillings.

Ready-filled creations will include The Smoked Salmon – smoked salmon with cream cheese, red onion, capers and dill – The Italian – mortadella, salami, provolone and zesty vinaigrette – Peanut Butter + Jelly, a nod to the American classic – and The KURO Special – the store’s signature bagel with a Japanese twist, featuring wasabi cream cheese, ikura (salmon roe), red onion and dill. Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten-Free options will be available.

Nestled amongst the charming and colourful houses of Hillgate Street, the new knead-to-know neighbourhood bagel spot will primarily cater to takeaway service, complemented by a 15-cover outdoor terrace which will open during the warmer months.

Jacob Van Nieuwkoop, Managing Director of KURO says: “We’re incredibly excited for KURO Bagels to open its doors. Building on the success of the Bakery it made perfect sense to expand our range with the launch of bagels. We look forward to bringing a reimagined premium offering to our local community, with the KURO twist that we are renowned for.”

A few doors down, KURO Coffee opened in 2021 and boasts a wide range of specialty coffee and traditional matcha. Turn the corner onto Notting Hill Gate and you’ll find KURO Bakery which opened in 2022. A haven of pantry items and baked goods made fresh each day including sourdough bread loaves and classical and seasonal pastries and cakes, with new indulgent creations to land in 2025. Each of the brand’s locations is inspired by Japanese minimalism and offers signatures with a Japanese twist.
