IHG Hotels & Resorts, in partnership with AIMS Holding, is set to introduce its ultra-luxury Regent brand to Makkah. The newly announced Regent Makkah will be located just steps from Al Haram Al Sharif, offering rooms with direct views of the Holy Mosque and Al Kaaba.
The agreement between IHG and AIMS Holding comes as construction on the property progresses ahead of schedule, underscoring IHG’s growing luxury footprint in Saudi Arabia. The hotel will feature 330 rooms and suites, including a presidential suite on a high floor that will offer panoramic views of the Haram.
Regent Makkah will also include specialty restaurants, along with a spa and wellness center.

“We are excited to launch Regent Makkah, a brand that embodies the pinnacle of luxury and hospitality. This property will not only elevate the guest experience in Makkah, but also set a new standard for luxury accommodations in the region,” said Haitham Mattar, managing director for India, the Middle East & Africa at IHG Hotels & Resorts. “Our collaboration with AIMS Holding is crucial and, together, we are committed to creating an exceptional offering for worshippers and travelers.”
Muhammad Al Amir, head of Hospitality at AIMS Holding, emphasized the hotel’s impact: “Regent Makkah will be a landmark addition to our expanding luxury portfolio, blending heritage with modern sophistication. With this launch, Makkah, one of the world’s most sacred destinations, will embrace an exceptional level of hospitality, profoundly meaningful and luxurious.”
Makkah has been attracting investments from other hospitality giants as well, with Marriott International announcing plans of opening the world’s largest Courtyard by Marriott in the Holy City. Slated to open in 2026, the hotel will offer 2,179 rooms across seven interconnected towers.
These hotel agreements will enhance the hospitality offering in Makkah, a focal point of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to position the country as a global hub for religious and cultural tourism. Vision 2030 includes expanding Makkah’s hospitality infrastructure to meet the growing demand for accommodations near the Holy Mosque.
