Marriott expands Caribbean footprint with all-inclusive resort in Dominican Republic

Marriott International has expanded its all-inclusive footprint in the Caribbean with the launch of Marriott Miches Beach, An All-Inclusive Resort. The resort marks the brand’s arrival in the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean.

The former Sunrise Miches Beach Resort was rebranded and refurbished to open under Marriott’s all-inclusive brand. The resort underwent an extensive renovation starting in late 2024, updating interior design, dining options, entertainment and common areas.

Situated along nearly 1,000 feet of beachfront, the resort offers direct access to Miches’ white sand beaches and turquoise waters.

Marriott Miches Beach introduces two experiences under one roof: a family-friendly section with a waterpark and entertainment for all ages and an adults-only section. Once fully completed, the resort will feature 500 suites, each with private balconies or terraces overlooking the beach or gardens.

Dining options include IBO, a seafood and raw bar; Solano, serving South American and Caribbean cuisine; and Neko, a ramen shop. Guests can also access a coffee bar, several pop-up venues and 11 restaurants once fully operational.

The resort also features multiple pools, a luxury spa, fitness center and 8,166 square feet of indoor meeting space, as well as additional open-air spaces, including a rooftop area.

“We are delighted to bring the Marriott brand to Miches, our second Marriott Hotels branded all-inclusive resort in the world,” said Brian King, president for Caribbean and Latin America at Marriott International. “The Marriott All-Inclusive Resort in Miches also confirms Marriott International’s commitment to contributing to economic growth in the Dominican Republic.”

This opening is part of Marriott Bonvoy’s broader expansion into the all-inclusive market, joining other Dominican Republic properties like Sanctuary Cap Cana, a Luxury Collection Resort; the Royalton Bavaro, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort and Casino; and W Punta Cana, which will open later this year.

Encompassing eight brands, All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy is Marriott International’s all-inclusive offering with a portfolio of over 20 properties in global destinations.
