Opening in 2024, Conrad Hamburg will occupy an iconic building in Germany’s second largest city, marking Hilton’s continued luxury portfolio growth across Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Hilton has announced a franchise agreement with Munich Hotel Partners (MHP) to open Conrad Hamburg, set to become the first hotel in Germany to operate under Hilton’s luxury Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand.

Located in the centre of Hamburg, the property will undergo an extensive refurbishment programme before opening under the Conrad brand in 2024 and joining 15 Conrad hotels currently trading or under development in EMEA, including the Conrad Rabat Arzana in Morocco.

The 238-room hotel will feature 25 spacious suites and 32 residential suites, nine meeting rooms, a lounge bar and restaurant, and wellness facilities including a luxury spa, a gym and private pool.

The luxury hotel will be housed in the historic Levantehaus building, located on one of Europe’s most popular shopping boulevards, the Mönckebergstraße, and will be close to the city’s many landmarks, attractions and transport links.

As the country’s second largest city and a prominent business and leisure destination, we’re delighted to be bringing the Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand to the city of Hamburg. With growing international demand for high quality luxury accommodation, we look forward to working with MHP to broaden Hilton’s offering in Hamburg and Germany, with 56 hotels currently trading or under development.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton

We are thrilled to partner with Hilton to bring the Conrad brand to the Levantehaus and into our upscale and luxury hotel portfolio. It is our ambition to bring international guests to experience the Hamburg way of life while also creating an attractive venue for locals – just as we have already succeeded in doing so with other projects in various locations.

Jörg Frehse, CEO of MHP Hotel AG

Hilton’s luxury brand, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, will open its first German property, the Conrad Hamburg, in September 2025.

The Conrad Hamburg will be situated in the Levantehaus, a building originally constructed in 1912. This location offers guests access to city landmarks such as the Alster Lake, HafenCity, and Hamburg’s town hall. The building, which also houses an exclusive shopping arcade, blends historical architecture with modern elements.

We are delighted to have two experienced partners at our side in the form of MHP and Hilton. The Conrad Hamburg is an ideal complement to our Levantehaus: the hotel combines contemporary design with excellent service and will enrich the special atmosphere of our passage. We have always seen the Levantehaus as a place of inspiration, encounters and something special. With the opening of the Conrad Hamburg, we are continuing this tradition.” – Dietmar Hamm, Managing Director of the Levantehaus

Hilton’s Growing Presence in Hamburg

The opening of the Conrad Hamburg follows the closure of the Park Hyatt Hamburg in 2023, marking Hilton’s second property in the city after the Hampton by Hilton Hamburg City Center. This new addition is expected to enhance the luxury hotel offerings in Hamburg, providing a high-end option for both business and leisure travelers.
