For International Women’s Day 2025, Firebird’s co-founders, Anna Dolgushina and Madina Kazhimova, are taking their ‘Firebird & Friends’ series international, bringing the brilliant female Head Chef, Savannah Hagendijk, over from Amsterdam’s Restaurant de Kas to celebrate the occasion.

Savannah will be bringing De Kas’ highly acclaimed dishes across the North Sea to the heart of Soho, London, in her first ever international pop-up on Saturday 8th March.

Renowned for their seasonal menus that epitomise plant-to-plate dining, Restaurant de Kas also holds both a Michelin star and a Michelin Green star for their inventive cuisine.

The restaurant is housed within a greenhouse where guests dine amongst the produce that will soon land on their plates.

The space, along with their garden, grows around 300 varieties of vegetables, herbs and fruit, from tomatoes, celery and purslane to runner beans, zucchini and swiss chard, some of which will be showcased on the exclusive pop-up menu.

The ‘Firebird & Friends’ series has seen great success over the past few years, bringing exciting and wholly unique dining experiences to Soho’s restaurant scene whilst showcasing produce-led menus and open-fire cookery, with the flames playing a key role in every dish.

With an atmosphere that blends sophistication with welcoming warmth and creativity, the restaurant has been a natural home to bring culinary talents together for International Women’s Day and beyond.

Savannah will be designing an exclusive menu to serve at the female-owned venue for one night only.

Featuring signature dishes from De Kas with influences from Firebird’s smokey flavours and flame-kissed cookery, along with a wine pairing from co-founder and head sommelier, Anna Dolgushina, the evening is set to be a true celebration of females in the restaurant industry.

Firebird’s considered and extensive wine list that champions small, natural, and biodynamic producers from across Europe who work their vineyards organically, with respect to nature and soil.

Co-founders, Anna and Madina, have said that, “We are thrilled to be collaborating with Restaurant de Kas on both Firebird’s and Savannah’s first ever international pop-up for International Women’s Day this year. At Firebird, we have always maintained a determination to champion female talent so we are very excited to be hosting Savannah and giving our guests the opportunity to experience De Kas’ cuisine here in London.”

Firebird shares Anna and Madina’s curiosity for open-fire cooking techniques, including the third dimension of flavour, unique texture, and beautiful aroma that this brings to each dish.

Their admiration for the sound and smell of the fire and its immersive approach to the kitchen theatre is apparent at the restaurant, elevating the guests’ experience from when they walk in, to when they leave.
