One of the north-east’s leading wedding destinations has been recognised for its continued commitment to providing excellent service to brides and grooms.

Aberdeen’s country house in the city, Macdonald Norwood Hall is in contention for honours as part of two prestigious awards events after judges revealed this year’s nominees.

The hotel has been nominated for Wedding Venue of the Year, while Aimee Bell has been nominated for Co-ordinator of the Year at the Top Tier Wedding Awards. The winners will be announced at a black-tie event on Sunday, February 23rd at Ardoe House Hotel, Aberdeen.

Later that week, Aimee is up for another award in the Wedding Co-ordinator of the Year category at the Scottish Wedding Awards, with results due to be announced on Wednesday, February 26th at the Glasgow Marriott Hotel.

Now in its 12th year, the Scottish Wedding Awards aims to recognise and reward those working across the country’s wedding industry who have gone the extra mile.

Katrina Wardrop, general manager at Macdonald Norwood Hall, commented: “These latest award nominations are credit to our dedicated team of wedding professionals – from front of house to the kitchen staff, and everyone in between.

“It really is a joint effort, and we are fortunate to have many long-serving colleagues who know what it takes to plan a successful wedding and who play a huge role in our ability to deliver the highest levels of service consistently throughout the entire year.

“We continue to work tirelessly to provide the best possible experience for our brides and grooms who choose Macdonald Norwood Hall as the venue to celebrate their big day, and it’s a privilege to have been recognised in this way by our customers and industry peers alike.”

Built in 1881 and located within the grounds of the 15th century Pitfodels Castle, Macdonald Norwood Hall is surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery, including seven acres of gardens and woodland, which provides the perfect setting for weddings of all sizes.

The award-winning venue has welcomed thousands of brides and grooms through its doors over the past 50 years and continues to host countless special moments for all the family.

With 73 luxury bedrooms, including bridal suites and period rooms, Macdonald Norwood Hall can accommodate ceremonies of all sizes – from up to 200 people in the venue’s ballroom to smaller, more intimate events in the library or private function rooms.

The four-star hotel caters for weddings all year round and never holds more than one ceremony on any given day to ensure complete focus is given to each couple.

Similarly, the menu for each wedding or event can be personalised to suit individual tastes or preferences while retaining an emphasis on quality food and drink, including locally-sourced produce and fresh ingredients.
