In Spain, Radisson Hotel Group is expanding in Malaga and Tenerife with the signing of the Radisson RED Malaga and the Radisson Resort & Residences Tenerife, which will undergo a complete renovation. In Portugal, the group announces the upcoming opening of the Radisson RED Porto Gaia in Vila Nova de Gaia and a significant investment in the renovation of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lisbon starting in 2025.

These developments support the group’s growth strategy, aiming to enrich its portfolio with new dynamic properties and enhance the customer experience.

In recent years, Radisson Hotel Group has strengthened its presence in Spain and the Iberian region by opening several key properties, such as the Radisson Blu 1882 Hotel, Barcelona Sagrada Familia; Radisson Collection Hotel, Gran Via Bilbao; Radisson Collection Hotel, Magdalena Plaza Seville; Radisson RED Madrid; Radisson Blu Resort, Lanzarote, as well as the signing of the first Radisson Collection hotel in the heart of Madrid.

With a portfolio of over 10 properties in operation and development, the group is implementing an ambitious growth plan, targeting key destinations like the Balearic Islands, Costa del Sol, Canary Islands, and major urban centers such as Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Seville, Malaga, San Sebastián, and Valencia.

Radisson RED Malaga

Scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2027, the Radisson RED Malaga will feature 102 rooms, including standard and superior rooms. The hotel will offer a restaurant and a bar on the ground floor, as well as a rooftop bar and a pool. A multifunctional space of over 100 m² will be dedicated to meetings and events. A gym and a wellness space of 110 m² will also be available.

Radisson Resort & Residences Tenerife

Located in the hills of Tenerife and scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2025, this complex with 242 units (hotel rooms and apartments) will include private balconies and terraces. It will feature two restaurants, a poolside bar, a 500 m² ballroom for events and conferences, and a wellness space.

Radisson RED Porto Gaia

Scheduled to open in early 2027, the Radisson RED Porto Gaia will have 250 rooms and offer social spaces, including a restaurant open all day, a lobby bar, a rooftop bar with views of the Douro River, a gym, and a 190 m² solarium. The hotel will be located near the General Torres metro and train station.

Valérie Schuermans, Vice President of Development at Radisson Hotel Group, on the strategic expansion in the Iberian region

Valérie Schuermans explains that these projects represent a new phase in the group’s growth in Iberia, with strategic expansion in both urban and leisure destinations. The signing of the Radisson Resort & Residences Tenerife and Radisson RED Malaga reflects Radisson’s commitment to tapping into real estate potential in key markets. In Tenerife, the group is strengthening its collaboration with Canarian Hospitality, a trusted partner since 2022, to develop an exceptional complex. In Malaga, the partnership with White Spain, a well-known player with local market expertise, ensures the success of the project.

Additionally, the upcoming opening of Radisson RED Porto Gaia in partnership with Value One and Arbireo Capital will introduce the Radisson RED brand to Portugal, while the complete renovation of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lisbon will further enhance the group’s presence in the capital. These investments demonstrate Radisson’s ambition to establish new benchmarks in hospitality in these attractive markets. Finally, she emphasizes that these projects would not be possible without the trust and collaboration of the group’s partners, who play a key role in this expansion.
