Concord Hospitality, the hotel management and development firm operating over 140 hotels across North America, is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

Founded in Ohio in 1985, the company has evolved from a single hotel in Pennsylvania into a major player in the industry. Now based in North Carolina, Concord Hospitality manages properties under top-tier brands including Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and IHG.

As of January 2025, the company will oversee 145 hotels with nearly 24,000 rooms across 25 states in the U.S. and two Canadian provinces, along with more than 30 bars and restaurants.

A key milestone in 2024 for Concord Hospitality was the opening of The Westin Atlanta Gwinnett.

Under the leadership of Founder and CEO Mark Laport, Concord has earned a reputation for its hotel management expertise across various segments, from select-service and extended-stay properties to luxury hotels, bars and restaurants. The company is on track to open 14 more hotels and six restaurants this year, further expanding its footprint.

“Over the past four decades, Concord Hospitality has not only expanded its portfolio but has also redefined what it means to deliver world-class hospitality,” said Laport. “This incredible milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering passion, dedication, and ingenuity of our team members, as well as the trust and support of our valued partners, guests and communities.”

A key milestone in 2024 was the opening of The Westin Atlanta Gwinnett, a 348-room hotel in the city’s Gas South District. In addition to its growth, Concord has also been recognized for its commitment to guest satisfaction. The company ranked among the top four in the J.D. Power 2024 North America Third-Party Hotel Management Guest Satisfaction Benchmark, surpassing the 700-point mark in an evaluation of hotel management companies across six key categories, including staff service, food and beverage, and overall value.

Looking to the future, Chief Operating Officer Will Loughran emphasized the company’s commitment to continued expansion and innovation. “We’re excited to build on the strong foundation of the past 40 years. By embracing emerging trends and markets, we’re focused on positioning Concord Hospitality for sustained success and growth in the decades to come.”

To commemorate its 40th anniversary, Concord Hospitality plans to host a series of events through this year, celebrating its employees, partners and communities while reflecting on its past achievements and future ambitions.
