The Handwritten Collection will expand into Switzerland with the reopening of Hotel Meierhof Davos on April 1, 2025, marking the brand’s entry into the Swiss market. Established in 1890, Hotel Meierhof Davos has been part of the region’s hospitality sector for more than a century. Originally developed during Davos’ rise as a health and holiday destination, the hotel has undergone multiple updates while maintaining its Graubünden character.

The four-star hotel features 37 rooms, a wellness area with a hammam, sauna, and pool, and Jaron, the oldest restaurant in Davos. Its proximity to the Parsenn cable cars makes it a convenient option for visitors exploring the Swiss Alps year-round.

” The integration of the Hotel Meierhof Davos into our global portfolio clearly shows the strengths of the Handwritten Collection: We preserve the individual charm of each hotel and the individuality of its hosts, while our hoteliers and guests benefit equally from the advantages of the Accor Group. This includes our strong ALL loyalty program, but also our comprehensive sales, marketing and distribution channels. In addition, the Handwritten Collection as a collection brand enables our owners and partners to enter the network flexibly and quickly ,” – Thiemo Willms, Vice President Development DACH at Accor .

Before its reopening, Hotel Meierhof Davos is undergoing a carefully planned renovation designed to maintain its historic charm while introducing contemporary touches. The redesign includes new furnishings and decor, such as hand-painted ceramic lamps reflecting the owner’s heritage.

“With our recent contract signing, we are not only bringing the Handwritten Collection brand to Switzerland for the first time, but are also expanding our very successful and long-standing partnership with Accor. Davos is an internationally renowned destination that the Hotel Meierhof Davos will ideally represent in the future as part of the Handwritten Collection ,” – Ezio Romani, CEO of the Amapa Group.

The hotel is owned by former Formula 1 driver Jarno Trulli and managed by the Amapa Group, which is a long-term partner of Accor in Italy.

Handwritten Collection currently includes over 20 properties in Paris, Malta, Sydney, Shanghai, Phuket, Krakow, and Düsseldorf, with an additional 30 hotels planned for future openings.
