Nobu Hospitality has partnered with Salboy to launch the UK’s first Nobu-branded residences and hotel in Manchester. This development will be a major addition to the city’s luxury real estate, set to be the tallest building outside London.

Nobu’s expansion into the UK

In a significant move to expand its global footprint, Nobu Hospitality has unveiled plans for a £360 million development in Manchester, which will include a hotel, a restaurant, and the first Nobu-branded residences in the UK.

The project, currently named Viadux 2, will feature a 76-storey tower reaching 246 meters, making it the tallest building outside of London. The development marks a milestone in Manchester’s rise as a luxury destination within the country.

The Nobu Hotel Manchester will include 160 rooms designed with the brand’s signature minimalist style. It will also feature sophisticated event spaces, a Nobu restaurant and bar, and extensive guest amenities.

Alongside the hotel, 452 luxury Nobu residences will be available, offering the Nobu lifestyle, with Japanese-inspired design, premium amenities such as Nobu dining and room service, a spa, gym, swimming pool, and dedicated experience team.

“We are proud to include Manchester in our global collection, with its vibrant culture and growing global status. Strong partnerships are essential to our success, and with Salboy, Fred Done, and Simon Ismail, we have the best-in-class partners with a solid reputation and a world-renowned vision.” – Trevor Horwell, CEO of Nobu Hospitality

A landmark partnership and investment

The partnership with Salboy marks an important development for both companies. Salboy is a leading property developer known for its innovative approach to real estate, and the collaboration with Nobu brings together the brand’s world-class hospitality and dining expertise with a prime location in Manchester’s city center.

“I’m truly excited to welcome the Nobu team to Manchester. As a businessman, I understand why Robert De Niro and his partners chose to invest in Nobu. It is about more than just money; it is about bringing this level of class to Manchester and celebrating what it means for the city.” – Fred Done, Co-founder of Salboy

“This £360 million deal for Nobu Manchester will take the city to new heights in terms of service, cuisine, and experience.” – Simon Ismail, Co-founder of Salboy

Manchester’s transformation into a luxury destination

Manchester has become a focal point for luxury hospitality and high-end real estate, attracting some of the world’s best-known brands and restaurateurs. The Nobu Hotel and Residences will serve as a benchmark for future developments in the city. The addition of Nobu’s world-renowned restaurant will further enhance Manchester’s growing reputation as a cultural and culinary hub.

With this development, Nobu Hospitality continues to strengthen its position in key global markets, mainly in Europe with its plans to open soon Nobu Residences Park Meadows Amsterdam and Nobu Restaurant Amsterdam. This partnership with Salboy ensures that the Nobu experience will be at the heart of one of the UK’s most exciting cities.
