British dining specialists, Goose + Berry will open their first stand-alone dining destination, Seventy Five at Liberty, in a joint venture. The new restaurant will open on 8th April on the second floor of the Regent Street store.
Launching in in-line with Liberty’s 150th anniversary year, Seventy Five takes its name from the year it was founded – 1875. The 1,800 sq ft, 84-cover venue will operate seven days a week offering brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, drinks and early suppers, as well as private evening event hire.
Head Chef Joe Holness, whose background includes Fera at Claridge’s and Da Terra, has crafted an innovative, sharing-style menu which invites diners to gather over breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner. The fare takes its cues from modern British cuisine, celebrating fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced locally and sustainably, including herbs and honey from Goose + Berry’s own hives.
All-day small and large plates include goat’s cheese & almond croquettes; torched mackerel with pickled carrot and chervil sauce; Swaledale chicken breast with salsify and thyme and British Hampshire pork chop and fresh herb salsa verde. Indulgent desserts to round of the meal include a chocolate mousse with preserved cherries. In addition, Seventy Five will offer brunch seven days a week and a very British afternoon tea from Head Pastry Chef Lizzie Ross that pays homage to Liberty’s arts and crafts heritage.
Cocktails are inspired by the store’s signature LBTY fragrance collection. Creations are named after specific scents and incorporate key notes such as the Adelphi Sun, which blends jasmine with fresh and zesty grapefruit.
Designed by award-winning studio, Thirdway, the interiors draw inspiration from Liberty’s signature aesthetic, blending arts and crafts influences with contemporary design. Bold Liberty prints and layered fabrics in warm colour palettes of burgundy, pinks and green create an inviting dining environment, reflective of the welcoming ambience throughout the store. Wall panels showcase Chinoiserie motifs and Persian Garden illustrations complemented by contemporary geometric patterns. A standout feature is the bespoke fabric ceiling installation, a central focal point and first of its kind.
Art has always been at the heart of Liberty, and Seventy Five will continue this legacy with an ongoing Artist in Residence series, where the walls of the dining room play host to the work of revered artists, all available for purchase. The first Artist in Residence will be renowned cartoonist, illustrator and writer, Sir Quentin Saxby Blake, offering guests a rare opportunity to own a piece of illustrated history.
Hannah Martin, Founder of Goose + Berry says: “Seventy Five marks an exciting milestone for Goose + Berry as our first restaurant venture. It was essential for us to create a concept that seamlessly integrates with Liberty’s heritage and customer experience. Liberty is an iconic British institution, and we are proud to bring our commitment to seasonal, high-quality British food to such an iconic setting. Having been heavily involved from ideation, the concept, vision, menus though to the design, I am excited to see the all-day restaurant to come to life in the heart of London.”
Natalie Gueslli, Head of Beauty & Commercial at Liberty comments: “Seventy Five is a natural addition to Liberty, reflecting our dedication to craftsmanship, heritage, and innovation. As we celebrate our 150th anniversary, this collaboration allows us to enhance our in-store experience with a high-quality, seasonally focused dining destination that resonates with our customers.”
Caroline Watson, Lead Designer, at Thirdway adds: “For this project, our aim was not only to capture the essence of the iconic Liberty brand but also to offer a fresh, innovative perspective on occasion, experience, and the true meaning of dining at Liberty. From the outset, we seamlessly integrated the brand identity of Goose + Berry alongside Liberty, ensuring that both brands harmonised within the design aesthetic of Seventy Five. As a result, the design embodies an eclectic yet refined vision, blending contemporary dining with the rich, elegant atmosphere of the space.”
Seventy Five opens on Tuesday 8th April and will operate from 10am – 8pm Monday to Saturday (last orders 6.45pm) and 12 – 6.45pm (last orders 4.45pm) on Sundays.
