Meliá Hotels International is expanding its luxury offerings in Spain with the launch of The Meliá Collection on the Costa del Sol. The Bahía Estepona, set to open in mid-2026, will be the first project on the Costa del Sol.
A premium addition to the Costa del Sol
The Bahía Estepona will undergo a comprehensive renovation to align with the standards of The Meliá Collection. Featuring 134 rooms and suites, the hotel will offer views of the Mediterranean, while it is situated on the coastline, with views of El Padrón Beach.
Amenities and wellness features
The hotel will feature extensive outdoor spaces, including a pool and garden areas, while guests can also enjoy a fitness center and a spa with a range of treatments. Dining options will include three restaurants, an outdoor pool bar, and a lobby bar, catering to both casual and refined tastes.
Local experience
Located in Estepona, known for its traditional Andalusian architecture, the hotel offers a chance to experience the local culture. With its whitewashed houses and vibrant flower pots, the town embodies the essence of Andalusia. In line with The Meliá Collection, the hotel will also offer cultural experiences to help guests connect with the destination.
Prime location with convenient access
The hotel’s location offers easy access to nearby attractions, being just 20 minutes from Puerto Banús and 30 minutes from Marbella’s city center, while the surrounding area also includes towns like Mijas and Málaga.
“Continuing to grow in the best Spanish destinations remains one of our priorities. With the signing of this Meliá Collection hotel on the Costa del Sol, we strengthen our presence in Andalusia, one of our country’s favorite destinations, where Meliá’s commitment to quality tourism is a solid reality.” – Gabriel Escarrer Jaume, President and CEO of Meliá Hotels International
Meliá’s growth in Andalusia
With this new property, Meliá Hotels International now operates 30 hotels in Andalusia, including other projects under The Meliá Collection in Cádiz and Ronda. In Málaga, the company is set to expand further with 16 hotels, including the upcoming ME Málaga in the city center and the rebranding of ME Marbella in the near future.
