Glion Institute of Higher Education has announced the appointment of Philippe Vignon as its new general Director, effective June 16, 2025. This strategic move comes as the Swiss institution, seeks to advance its international development and reinforce its positioning as a global academic brand.

With more than three decades of executive experience across sectors including tourism, aviation, digital media, and education, Philippe Vignon brings a blend of strategic leadership and cross-industry insight. His professional track record includes transformative roles at Geneva Tourism, Edipresse Digital, EasyJet, and L’Oréal Suisse, where he consistently delivered growth, innovation, and operational excellence.

In his new role, Vignon will oversee Glion’s campuses in Switzerland and the UK, foster strategic partnerships with hospitality, tourism, and luxury sector leaders, and support the institution’s innovation agenda. His appointment is aligned with Glion’s ambition to enhance its global footprint, expand into new markets, and respond to the increasing demand for high-level hospitality education worldwide.

“Joining Glion means committing to a mission that goes beyond education – it means shaping the future of a vital global industry. Glion embodies Swiss excellence, refined service and intellectual elegance. I am honored to lead this prestigious institution and determined to strengthen its relevance and impact in a changing world.” – Philippe Vignon

He is also a board member at Hôtel des Horlogers, a pioneering eco-luxury property developed by Audemars Piguet.

“Philippe Vignon is a visionary and rigorous leader. His ability to transform and elevate organizations fits perfectly with Glion’s DNA. We are convinced that he will strengthen Glion’s academic excellence while extending its international reach.” – Pierre Salles, Chairman of Glion’s Board of Directors

“Philippe possesses a rare combination of strategic clarity, operational experience and human leadership. He fully understands the positioning of a legacy brand like Glion, and will drive its expansion with authenticity and ambition. His appointment marks a decisive step in our mission: to train the future leaders of the hotel and luxury industries.” – Benoît-Etienne Domenget, CEO of Sommet Education
