The hotel, which has served as one of the city’s largest accommodations since its opening in 1995, has officially closed its doors and will undergo renovation before reopening under the B&B brand by spring 2026.

The closure of the Intercity Hotel in Kassel took place at the beginning of April 2025. The hotel, with 148 beds, will undergo a comprehensive renovation that will modernize its facilities. Once the refurbishment is complete, B&B Hotels, will take over the management of the property. This move aligns with B&B’s broader strategy of expanding its footprint in Germany and across Europe.

B&B Hotels has been actively growing its presence in Kassel, with multiple locations in the city, including a recent acquisition of an Ibis hotel in December 2023. The chain, has seen significant growth, with 170 new hotels opened in 2022 alone. The transformation of the Intercity Hotel into a B&B Hotel in Wilhelmshöhe is part of the brand’s ongoing expansion plans in Germany and beyond.
