IHG Hotels & Resorts expands its footprint in Europe with the opening of Candlewood Suites Berlin Charlottenburg, marking the brand’s debut in Germany and setting the stage for further expansion in the region.
First Candlewood Suites in Germany
IHG Hotels & Resorts has officially launched Candlewood Suites Berlin Charlottenburg, marking the brand’s entry into Europe. Located in Berlin’s central Charlottenburg district, the hotel offers a blend of convenience, comfort, and self-sufficiency for long-term travelers.
This opening aligns with IHG’s plan to expand the Candlewood Suites brand in Germany, with additional locations slated to open soon. Mario Maxeiner, Managing Director Northern Europe at IHG Hotels & Resorts, commented:

Candlewood Suites Concept: a flexible stay experience
Candlewood Suites offers a midscale aparthotel experience that caters to travelers looking for extended stays. Each property provides spacious studio and apartment-style rooms equipped with kitchens, including a microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and tea and coffee-making facilities.
The hotels also offer self-service guest laundry, access to gym facilities, and a 24/7 marketplace called the Candlewood Cupboard, which sells snacks, drinks, and personal essentials.

Expansion plans in Germany
The opening of Candlewood Suites Berlin Charlottenburg is just the first step in a broader expansion strategy. IHG, in partnership with NOVUM Hospitality, plans to open additional Candlewood Suites properties across Germany in the coming months, including in cities like Fürth, Heidelberg, Düsseldorf, Augsburg, and another location in Berlin.
