The Hyatt group is entering Croatia with the opening of the Hyatt Regency Zadar, marking an important step in its expansion in the Balkans, with the aim of growing its Hyatt Regency brand by 70% in the region by 2027.
The Hyatt Regency Zadar, the brand’s first establishment in Croatia, has just opened its doors. The hotel, located on the Adriatic coast close to the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is aimed at both business and leisure travellers.
The hotel offers 133 rooms and suites designed to offer breathtaking views of the Adriatic Sea. There are also various F&B areas featuring Mediterranean cuisine, facilities for business and private events with over 740 m² of modular space, including a large 400 m² ballroom, and a 1,155 m² wellness centre called Lavanda Spa, which includes heated pools, a sauna and a hammam.
A first opening in Croatia
“As the first Hyatt-branded property in Croatia, this opening confirms our commitment to expanding into destinations that are popular with our guests and World of Hyatt members. It reinforces our exceptional portfolio, which responds to the changing expectations of travellers. The Balkans is a priority growth area for us, with increasing appeal to business and leisure travellers seeking beautiful scenery and cultural heritage.” – Michel Morauw, General Manager North EAME at Hyatt
“We are delighted about the opening of the very first Hyatt-branded hotel in Croatia, a project that will significantly enrich the hotel offering not only in Zadar, but in the entire region. At Doğuş Group, we are proud to be making another landmark investment in Croatia, building on our 15-year commitment to the region.” – Burak Baykan, Managing Director of Doğuş Croatia, the company that owns the hotel.
