From the front office to CRM and revenue management, PMS has profoundly changed the way hotels are run today. This is a major time-saver for staff, who can now devote all their time to the very essence of the hotel business: hospitality and the customer experience. While we all agree on this observation, one question remains: which PMS should we choose?
First of all, there’s no need to go looking for the best PMS on the market. You simply need to look for the one that is best suited to your needs. While some people are looking for a full-featured PMS, others prefer a simpler version that offers interfaces with other systems.
Knowing what you’re looking for in a PMS
Max Spangler, vice-president of technology at Charlestowne Hotels, explains that the group is looking for ‘scalable and flexible systems to suit different sizes and types of establishment, as there is no one-size-fits-all solution in our business’. For Matt Schwartz, Technical Director at Sage Hospitality, ‘what distinguishes a partner from a supplier is the quality of the relationship when the PMS is inoperative’.
