Another merger in the world of tourism tech.
Tech players are constantly making acquisitions to present themselves to their current and future customers as a “one-stop shop” for technological solutions. As part of this increasingly aggressive strategy, Amadeus has just acquired Forwardkeys, a company also based in Spain, which collects market data mainly on tourist flows and air traffic to offer to its private customers and public organizations.
“This acquisition – the amount of which is being kept confidential – will enable us to expand our business in the field of tourism intelligence, thanks to an excellent portfolio and complementary customer base. As this is still a recent transaction, we are first exchanging views with key stakeholders: customers and partners”, said an Amadeus spokesperson.
In January, Amadeus acquired biometric technology specialist Vision-Box, and in March last year, B2B payments specialist Voxel.
