London-based hospitality and lifestyle brand Mason & Fifth to celebrate its official launch on Monday 16th June, with a series of cultural events across the summer for guests and locals alike.

From multimedia all-day parties with Charlie Dark to Jazz Matinee in the bar, guided photography walks with Eddie Otchere to an inclusive run club with Athene Run Club, sound healing with Roses Gabor, summer at Mason & Fifth, Westbourne Park, promises a celebration of this vibrant West London neighbourhood and a destination for the whole community to enjoy.

POP-UP

Planet Good Earth (in collaboration with The Caley Brothers) will be joining the launch of Mason & Fifth, Westbourne Park, with a one week pop-up from 16th – 21st June. The local platform provides education, seeds and plant material to a global community, supporting the next generation in protecting the planet. Their team will be on hand, stocking a collection of seasonal seeds and offering community planting workshops.

BAR

The ideal destination for a daytime coffee or an evening tipple, the bar at Mason & Fifth offers a wide selection of craft beers, dynamic wine list and cocktails expertly crafted by East London’s A Bar with Shapes for a Name, and on the opening Sunday will be the inaugural monthly Jazz Matinee – bringing together some of the finest of the capital’s jazz scene, under the direction of Sam Michnik, distinguished drummer and co-founder of East London’s revolutionary arts collective, Unit 31.

The bar will also be the spot to find Book Slam, London’s original literary juke joint, celebrating its 20th anniversary in the company of the Royal Society of Literature, with appearances from rapper/producer/songwriter Berwyn and poet and novelist Joe Dunthorne.

CANAL – RESTAURANT

As daylight fades, the city’s sharpest selectors take the reins at Canal Restaurant—the in-house, waterside haven for food lovers, curated by the minds behind Crispin and Bistro Freddie. Adding to the ambience, DJs Saige Sounds [NTS], DJ Amazon [BBE] & Rare Treat [Oroko Radio] will be on hand every week, spinning their favourite records from London and beyond.

LISTENING LOUNGE

Featuring a bespoke Friendly Pressure sound system, The Listening Lounge welcomes talent old and new, to host informal sessions, from live performances to intimate conversations. Across the summer, guests include living legend, Jazzie B, reggae icon, Dennis Bovell, and the personification of carnival, Norman Jay MBE.

Every month, the award-winning vocal leader Naveen Arles, who has built numerous choirs from communities including board level bankers and recently arrived refugees runs “MF” or “Mezzo Forte”, the Mason & Fifth choir. Guests and locals alike are welcome in a relaxed environment that celebrates singing as society and choir as community.

GALLERY

The Gallery, housed within Meadow, Mason & Fifth’s creative workspace, designed to offer Meadow members and local community groups a space to showcase their work, and will be home to a programme of workshops and events throughout the summer.

Highlights include DJ, poet, educator and all-round renaissance man, Charlie Dark, kicking off a monthly School of Dark, a day-to-night celebration of music, collaboration and expression.

The “See Life” life drawing workshops will be hosted with London Drawing and We Used To Daydream, a somatic daydream experience led by ecological artist and cultural futurist, Annegret Affolderbach.

COURTYARD

As the days grow longer and warmer, the courtyard is a haven of tranquility, with activities including Tai Chi (taught by Central Tai Chi and suitable for complete beginners), a spoon carving workshop (with the estimable Barn the Spoon) and, of course, our monthly makers’ market, bringing together local artisans, designers, and creators for a unique bazaar for handmade goods, sustainable products, and one-of-a-kind creations.

CINEMA

Exclusively for guests [and their friend], Mason & Fifth will host screenings 365 days a year with 52 guest curators from the world of film, the arts and beyond choosing “Seven Films to See Before Next Week”. Early selectors include Michael Barrington (Cinema Curator at the Barbican), Sam Bain (co-creator of Peep Show, Fresh Meat and Four Lions), and Ella Maisy Purvis (lately seen starring in Channel 4 crime drama, Patience).

Mason & Fifth, Westbourne Park is the UK’s first destination of its kind, offering flexible stay studios, a free programme of cultural events, a canalside restaurant, Listening Lounge, Gallery Space, plus a recording studio –  with their first ever open ground floor – making it an exciting step to open up events for everyone to be able to come and enjoy – regardless of whether you’re staying in the building or not.

While staying guests will have exclusive access to some facilities including The Cinema Room, the 10th Floor panoramic lounge and The Grounding wellness studio (which features a gym, pool, sauna, steam room and programme of regular classes), Mason & Fifth is extending its free calendar of events in the public spaces to locals and beyond throughout the summer.

Mason & Fifth Co-Founder Ben Prevezer says, “We are so excited to be opening the doors to Mason & Fifth, Westbourne Park in June. We are hoping to create more than just a place to stay, but a destination to discover, create, and connect in the heart of West London. Our team has worked with some of London’s best creative talent to deliver a programme of cultural events which we hope will get people into the building to enjoy everything the space has to offer.”

The full events programme can be found at https://mason-fifth.com/events/ and events can be booked by downloading the Mason & Fifth mobile app and RSVPing.

If you would like to extend your stay, book a studio from £170 including access to the elevated on site amenities, including The Grounding wellness studio with a pool, sauna, steam room and gym.
