Following acclaimed launches in Menorca and Lanzarote, Annua Signature Hotels introduces a soulful countryside retreat inspired by art, heritage, and slow living in Mallorca

After the celebrated openings of César Lanzarote, Amagatay, and Morvedra Nou in Menorca, Annua Signature Hotels announces its latest chapter: Son Xotano, a Provençal-inspired estate retreat opening 1st August in the heart of rural Mallorca. Located in the peaceful inland village of Sencelles, the hotel marks Annua’s first property on the island and continues the brand’s commitment to offering deeply rooted, design-led experiences across the Mediterranean.

Set on a 12th-century estate amid olive groves, vineyards, and lavender fields, Son Xotano presents a refined reimagining of a traditional Mallorcan possessió. The architecture honours the estate’s origins — thick stone walls, shaded patios, and sun-drenched terraces — reinterpreted through a warm, Provençal sensibility. The result is a natural rhythm of light and space that evokes stillness, intimacy, and understated luxury.

The property features 22 guest rooms, including 14 suites, all designed with an emphasis on rustic sophistication and Mediterranean restraint. Hand-thrown ceramics, reclaimed wood, earth-toned linens, and textured plaster walls reflect a design language that is both timeless and tactile — refined without excess, deeply rooted in the island’s soul.

As with any Annua property, gastronomy lies at the heart of the Son Xotano experience. The estate’s culinary offering is rooted in zero kilometer, seasonal cuisine, reinterpreting Mallorcan tradition with quiet sophistication and exacting detail. With ingredients drawn from nearby farms or on-site sources, guests can dine beneath vine-laced pergolas, beside the pool, or in El Celler — a centuries-old stone wine cellar transformed into a characterful grill restaurant.

Wellness at Son Xotano unfolds slowly and intuitively. Without a traditional spa, Son Xotano focuses on quiet rituals of reconnection — from personalised in-room or outdoor massages to meditative nature experiences and stargazing sessions that reflect the island’s rhythm. Here, restoration is not an outcome but a process — led by the land, the light, and a deep sense of place.

An idyllic setting for weddings and destination celebrations, Son Xotano offers an intimate, romantic backdrop for couples seeking an authentic Mediterranean experience. With its sweeping gardens, historic architecture, and bespoke service, the estate can accommodate exclusive private events, from intimate ceremonies beneath olive trees to festive gatherings in the vaulted spaces of El Celler. Every detail is tailored to create unforgettable moments framed by Mallorca’s natural beauty and timeless charm.

In true Annua style, Son Xotano fosters a rare sense of belonging. Guests are not simply welcomed — they are initiated into a discerning circle of travellers who value authenticity over spectacle. With curated local insight and a deeply personal approach, every stay becomes a journey into Mallorca’s most intimate, undiscovered corners.
